Had Edinburgh added a couple of sentences to their press release, explaining the fact that the move was forced on them by Clegg being determined to race in Belgium on a day he should be turning out for the Monarchs, then none of this nonsense from either set of fans would have been necessary.

Surely this was known about when they signed him.

So thats Mark Riss, Garcia, Ruml and Clegg binned this season and Williamson chucked it early doors.

Lawson at reserve could be a masterstroke, just like Clegg no pressure on him to score surely.

How long is it since William Lawson rode at this level ? He rode for us in around 2009 , dont remember him riding after that . It's a long time away from the sport at this level of competition . But good luck to him .

Belgium and Stoke that's Cleggs level.

He was poor at mildenhall yesterday then won his last two heats. Really should be nigh on unbeatable at that level.

Just hope his Dad is not his mechanic this time.

That's my reservation, as imo Father Lawson's dominance in his son's senior career,  prevented Willie making a serious go of what could have been an impressive journey to a higher level.

Well Clegg has previous on where his priorities lie, when for the last match at home for 2016, he left us further short handed against Glasgow, as he opted for the Wolves end of season function, instead of riding for us:nono:

Must be 2010 when we won the league again. Think he might of had a short stint at some point during the 2011 but can’t remember who it was with.

Lawson was class  and would have went far with proper guidance .Good luck to him though he was a good lad to chat to in those days.

He also declined to be based further south which didnt help his career when it was on the up. Auchterarder to Somerset or Poole is an all day event, to then have to ride four or five heats at the end of it.

He rode 13 matches for Belle Vue in the upper league and 18 for Edinburgh in the lower league in 2010........he had no official meetings in 2011, or since.

Its a joke that his 4+ average is available for a replacement for Clegg having come in on a 3 and scored less that that in just a handful of meetings
