See you in Ylitornio fsp? :)

I have two plan A’s for January and Ylitornio is the other one. Just confirmed the garage to repair the heater in the van, so I’m already committed for 1098€ worth!

Great heat 17 today, when Toloknov battled with the Ufa riders. Lost it on the final turn when he spun out, gifting a 5-1 to Ufa. Once they drew Heat 19, Ufa were winners, but I bet Toloknov is kicking himself allowing Ufa to win.

Despite it being basic coverage, it was a brilliant picture and no breaks in transmission.

Finns at Ylitornio are Timo Kankkunen and Matti Isoaho. Reserves Tomi Kirilov and Rami Systä. Tomi Norola and Jussi Nyrönen will travel to Övik.

Andrew Barrett for MA will open his ice speedway racing career at Ytornio. Believed to be the first Australian ice racer. He did UK speedway about 30 years ago as Bill Barret (I’m told).

16.
17. Evgeny Saydullin
18. Edward Krysov
19. Sergey Makharov

No.16 will be decided after practice by a match race between the three 6th places riders. The winner will take the Final spot, whilst the other two will be reserves.

In previous years the Final has been shown live on Mega Lada's YouTube Channel, and they are plugging the meeting there, so I think they will be showing it. Russian Forum says the Friday meeting starts at 1700hrs Moscow Time  (UK 1400hrs), Saturday at 1300hrs (UK 1000hrs) If I don't post the link I'm sure someone will. Should be a good meeting.

Whilst not very high up in the rankings the Swiss Chamiponships and Open Individual Meeting are scheduled for 20th and 21st January at Champex Lac subject to the lake freezing sufficiently to support a track. Back up dates are 10 and 11 February. Looks to be a very picturesque venue.

Been cancelled. Not sure if they are still hoping for a February staging

Unfortunately I don’t believe the Champex-Lac meeting will be staged in February either.
