Ice Speedway Meetings 2017/2018

Recommended Posts

Im looking to go to Berlin for the meeting on 3/4th of March and very new to the Ice Speedway scene. Does Saturday consist of qualifying and Sunday the final or are they run over a 2 day final format ? Sorry for the ignorance in the post.

Two day final, that both count towards the GP.There is no qualifying, but Friday they hold a practice session like speedway GPs and Thursday they have the German championship. So 4 days of action

If you are planning to go, avoid buying tickets on Kurve 2, as unless you take a pair of binoculars, you are some distance from the track.

I'm sorry, but name of Swinuhov is not Vinim. He is Vadim! Аnd Vydrin's name is Elisey .

Thanks for the info. Can you tell me what time it would finish on the Sunday evening. Just planning flights and can get one back on Sunday to Newcastle or would maybe need to stay until Monday.

Cheers

Starts 2pm local- would have thought it would be all over by 5pm at the latest.

You would hope so and try to plan for that, but I have had to leave before the meeting was finished and I know another year my friends from Bochum also had to leave before the end, because if you get a few crashes then the meeting drags on.The next year I planned for a bus an hour later and what happened? The meeting went through without problem and I ended up waiting around for about two hours for my connection.Don't forget that track prep takes a bit longer on ice than it does at a dirt track,

That was quick. Arrived back at our Munich hotel, having had to miss the final, owing to the last bus needed to catch the connecting train being due. A long old day, arriving for the 4 rider qualifiers  at 10 a.m. with the snow from heat 13 making it a bit special. A few good heats and a last chance work out for the gp riders.  Zorn obviously a class above. A few other English voices in the crowd showed we weren't the only mad ones there.
