I am sure you are correct and it wasn't a success then , this idea will just drive more people away , it's not a solution  it's a call from the grim reaper.

I don't know, I quite enjoyed it.  In any case, I think the main problem in attracting/keeping fans is not the format of the actual heats but the experience of the evening - at most tracks nothing to keep you or your family entertained before/between or after racing, or dry and warm.  There's usually plenty of space - make use of it.  Format only matters to those who are already fans.

Not really, because I think format is only important to current fans.

There are lots of people who've been once or twice and never again - the ones that I know was because it was boring for them or their children or nowhere to go to get out of the wind or nothing to do most of the time as it's only 15mins of entertainment.  When the racing is also bad then that makes it even worse but look at other sports - when they're dull people still have a good time socialising and doing other things.  All speedway offers is people standing around writing in programmes......

Where are you going to find the fans to bring new would be supporters when they are already declining because they don't like the said proposed package. Supporters come from past generations of supporters who introduce there family and friends.

Who says they have to come with someone else?

I agree about all the boring nothing going on during the evening, it's part of many issues speedway has.  First and foremost what mustn't happen is current fans that go week in week put off going.

I've gone nearly every week for 40 years...up until recently...the last couple of seasons has seen me go to half a dozen.  They need to keep the likes of me going an find new fans.

Totally agree. I have been going since 1969 to various clubs/meetings and more often than not two or three times a week in the early seventies but now I pick the odd meeting at Ipswich and Mildenhall. It has lost its appeal and I really find it hard to relate to teams made up of a pool of riders.

Problem is presentation has gone backwards and become secondary compared to what it was (and that's not pining for the good old days. It's just that it wasn't broken and hasn't improved) and atmosphere is virtually non-existent. Yes it may be reasonable for big matches but for the bread and butter meetings it'd not take anyone's breath away. When you think that copious amounts of interviews are the answer then you're struggling!

The trouble with that at Peterborough is Craig Saul thinks it's a good idea to interview people when the bikes are on the way round to the tapes and if that doesn't drown the interview that bloody DJ  will make sure he does with his over the top music playing  right up to the green light coming on.

Said it enough times so I don't think anyone listens. Any PA announcements can't be heard in the stand when bikes are on track which is why no riders should leave the pits until the line-up has been announced. Haven't noticed the DJ tbh but doesn't bother me and seems ok. Can't say the same for the pre meetng interviews.

If Ulrich isnt fit or for Scott Nicholls one good option to guest in the play offs is Aaron Summers going well at the moment and for Tom Bacon maybe Drew Kemp should be contacted asap before anyone else grabs him.

How does the 8 day rule work if we choose Lakeside?
