Premiership Grand Final 2nd Leg - Wolves Vs Swindon 4 Oct

Recommended Posts

Probably won't mean anything as none of these people will actually attend a live meeting but the amount of people who stopped me at work today to say they watched the last few heats and were hooked was amazing. Im the only speedway fan in an office of 80+ so its rare having anyone to discuss it with. If only we could get these people along to a meeting.

Watched it back today and Morris werent half bad passing on the horror track!!! Inside and out. Maybe some riders just aren't good enough to handle it!!

Similar thing happened to me once. Postie arrived just as I left for work, took the post with me which included a couple of speedway DVDS. Ending up using them to configure the DVD player on network PCs and many folk stopped to watch the on-screen action. "Is this the speedway you are always talking about?", " and they can actually pass around the outside", "these guys ride all over the world?", "no gears or brakes (or fear!) at up 70MPH you say?". " Yep" to all. "It looks great, I'd love to see it 'live in the flesh' so, when is the next race in Hull ?", tricky one, was hoping no-one would ask that....

Exactly. Riss cost Wolves the title but everyone wants to take it out on Chris Harris. Sums up this forum though.

Even Peter Adams had no faith in Riss towards the end.

a reserve cost them the title?....Bomber should of only been beaten by Doyle and possibly Morris, he should of been nailed on for a minimum of 9 points.

Bomber was utter garbage.

Gave of his best, struggled for pace on the night and tried three bikes. Not his evening; down Wolves way (not that I speak for anyone else) I reckon we accept that, congratulate Swindon and their excellent supporters and move on.

Yet Mark Riss only beat Liam Carr.

He wasn't given the opportunity in heat 12 or 14, he should have been in one of them, Greaves rode well but Riss is a better rider and given the meeting situation was worth the risk to be in one of those heats unless he was injured.

Because he couldn't turn the bike. Pete Adams knew it. Just the BSF brigade ganging up on Harris again.

Yes Harris was poor I'm not saying he wasn't but it's not fair to put the blame all on his shoulders.

I love Bomber but he was cack and in truth the blame lies with him..

That's life move on - nothing to see here!!

There were a few things that went wrong for Wolves, probably the most important was Howarth in heat 8 seemingly having bike issues and Harris was appalling.

With a complete Aces team and Wolves using a guest and R/R, there is only 1 conclusion that I can come to, and it doesn't have to spelled out !

You lost out to the best team in the league by 1 point over 2 legs with R/R and a guest. In the koc you will have the choice of a better guest so why the big downer. As a Belle vue fan I think the Wolves team has plenty of grit and determination and with a good guest imo it is far from over.Your home track knowledge should still give you a lead from the 1st leg.Your away win at Swindon shows that you can still win away with R/R and a guest so I am not counting my chickens yet.Its the only chance of winning a trophy this season and I think both teams will be fired up to win it.

I think that it will still be a close great tie and am very much looking forward to it.

Not really sure who is going to be a 'better' guest tho.

At Monmore it's game over anyway as we simply cannot cover the absence of 2 Monmore specialists.

I can't see either leg being close, still I was wrong about the PO final so anything is possible.

Just don't see it.

Well Done!!!! to both Wolves and Swindon, on producing an exciting and highly debatable Final and ultimately Swindon as the deserved League Winners. Despite all the garbage, childish rivalry and negativity on this site, it was a great advert for the sport, with BT Sport and most importantly,Speedway becoming the ultimate winners.

Can I just remind some of you that our own Poole Forum was "closed down", due in part, to the above behaviour of the few, some of whom frequent this site.

If some fans think any rider sits in the pits and plots to put other riders in hospital then that shows utter stupidity, accidents have always happened and always will in speedway, in the heat of the moment things can get heated but no rider wants to see another in hospital or would purposely put another rider there, Tungate lost control and Freddie left Bjerre with nowhere to go simple really. As for the KO cup well its a bit like the League cup in football its meaningless until the finalists step out at Wembley then we see suddenly full teams appearing, bit like the regular season in speedway really, forget the previous 7 months it all comes down to 4 matches, no wonder regular matches are in front of woeful crowds many people only turn up for the meaningful play offs.

time to open the window, do you not think some riders that have been nailed by another rider seek revenge?

Unfortunately it seems you chose the wrong guest on Wednesday, probably in hindsight Nicholls may have been better, by using Nicholls tonight I am assuming he will be the guest of choice for the cup, I remember Nicholls guesting for Poole at Monmore and he was excellent.
