TNT said the same thing about Tai but I can't see any new average for him other than the one he finished 2016 on.

Ah, if TNT is saying he's over 8, 95% chance he isn't :)

Woffinden only rode in the playoffs in 2016 didn't he, so no adjustment to his average.

It's good isn't. Doyle, Lindgren and the other EL standard riders from 2016 had their employment opportunities limited by the change of rules, so now those riders that couldn't be bothered to ride over here in 2016, who were not subjected to the same ruling on their average can be considered bargains.

Only in Speedway.

Masters 7.92
Wolf X >5.28
Pawlicki 7.32
Schlien 7.72
Woffinden 7.03
Greaves 2.54
M Riss 4.69

Tai Woffinden final Green Sheet average in 2016 was 7.03 and they used that figure to convert his average for the start of 2017. He's 7.03

Extremely unlikely but a top three of Lindgren, Pawlicki and Woffinden would take some stopping. Throw in Howarth and it leaves 12pts for the remaining three. Greaves at 7 and it's about 9.5pts for two riders.

Woffy said on twitter last night he won't be riding over here. No plans to change his current schedule.

I'm certainly no Twitter expert but he must have deleted it! :o:unsure:

Even if Freddie doesn't want to ride in the UK next year, I still wouldn't take Jacob on that average as a no1 (which he would have to be with the new rules in place)

Exactly, it would be a major risk given he achieved it riding at No 4.

Next year should have been the year Jacob moved to 2nd heat leader and hopefully adapted to that rule.

It was a reply rather than a tweet so just need to click on tweets and replies at the top of his page.

When asked if any truth in rumours of a uk return this year he responded - news to me, no Im doing the same as this year 👌🏻

Manzares worth a dart @ #6 on 4.18?

Don't know why we would want Manzares, never done a lot and only 4th in American Championship, says it all

When Tai came into the team in 2016 to replace Kylmakorpi he used his 2014 average of 7.03 and at the end of last season he had done five home and one away meeting so at the end of the season it was still showing his 2014 average and had he wanted to ride in 2017 or 2018 then those six matches are used with 14 from 2014 to get a new average.

If anyone knows his last ten home and ten away then that would be his average and he scored well in 2016 so a chance it is over eight

HOWEVER it could be 3.47 or 11.38 as it doesn't matter as he is doing Wroclaw, Masarna and the GPs in between nappy changes.

If Piotr Pawlicki can be tempted back now he is put of the GP circus he has to be bought in as he is certainly a rider that can improve and be one off the best in the league.

As for Jacob or Freddie it's a tough call but really both are a gamble as they both will be coming back from bad injuries and regardless of anything that they say about being ready to practice, they could take time to comeback to the level they finished on.

Fully fit and ready to go both have points that make them the one to fill the number one position but Freddie has to be the one you want to win that vital race as a tactical switch.

Disappointed that the switch back to a tactical substitute next season can only be done once. It should be whenever you want after heat 4 and not have to wait for the one race gamble.

But is the tactical only once ????

I have seen nothing put out by the BSPA saying only once in a meeting. There have been forum contributors who have had their own comment on it being only once (they think) but pls let me know where it has been formalised as only once.

The BSPA announcement said:

TACTICAL SUBS: Black and White double points replaced with tactical substitution permitted in heats 5 to 14 (excluding heat 8) when a team is 6 points or more behind. For clarity there are NO double points.

Would be good to get some formal clarification on it.

Would be good if it said it can be used more than once and each rider can only have one tactical ride from the main team.

Like many other things not known for sure like rider assessed GSA if they rode before 2016 or what young riders say 21 or under who have never ridden UK will be assessed at.
