It's not great form if the riders had already agreed verbally to join those clubs and presumably Cook was aware of that.

Not illegal and no doubt not the first time it's ever happened but pretty poor nevertheless by both riders and Lakeside.

If true it's no different to Glasgow trumping Lakeside's deal to buy Richard Lawson a few years ago.

Stuart Douglas has always run a very tight ship financially, so Morris would have been offered a fair deal but it wouldn't have been over the odds. Also, in Morris' case he knows Stanstead is only 40 minutes away so far easier and more convenient for a flight Poland.

Thats a bit touchy!!

Indeed he doesnt have to justisfy it to opposition fans - its tha BSPA that need to sanction it in line with the regulations.

The difficulty for everyone is no copy of the regulations is in the public domain (and possibly not even in the private domain!) They could well be still in the process of being finalised for all we know.

That situation causes the confusion and ultimately the dissatisfaction for fans (of all teams)

That is exactly the point. It's not at all clear what this information could not be given straight after the AGM . The promoters know the rule so there seems to be no reason why if can't be published.

Suggestions that Morley and Zach will ride on previous PL/Championship averages dont make sense. If that rule still existed then Kennett could ride Championship.

It wouldn’t surprise me if that was the case, it’s happened before and no doubt will happen again.

Interesting comment reference Kennett, I can see your logic but this sport doesn’t do logic does it.

maybe Lakeside used a mix of old rules and the 1.2 multiplyer,,, would be such a shame if they had to disassemble the team, after not being allowed to sign Nicholls and Kennett also ;)

The Hurry situation, he was given an average, someone or some people complained, it was reassessed accordingly.

Should same happen now I expect they would simply drop Ben for a two pointer, maybe a hot prospect like a Tom Brennan, really not concerned at this stage, we will have a very strong team regardless.

There is a difference though - Paul's was an assessed average whereas I do not think that applies to any of the proposed team. Perhaps the answer lies in the latest Hammers' press release, an extract of which appears below.

“Team building wise it hasn’t all been plain sailing and having early targets made ineligible was a challenge but we’ve benefitted too with BSPA (British Speedway Promoters’ Association) confirmation that Ben and Zach are on their actual 2016 Tier 2 figures and to have riders of the absolute quality of Nick and Rich to lead us and all seven riders taking little or no persuasion to become Hammers has made my job rather easy.

Why are people still questioning if the team is legal as stated zac and ben

are on the 2016 averages bspa  rules and as for stealing riders any promotion

will do whats best for their club and at the end it is the riders choice where they ride

no kidnapping involved so drop the sour grapes and just except we will be

the champions with our cracking team COYH.

also looking at the prem teams so far miles better racing in our league happy days.
