Is It A Ride?

Recommended Posts

As we have the rules aficionados gathered here what about helmet colours this season?

The number of riders using a helmet that has some red on it has increased, likewise black and yellow helmet designs rather than quarters and in multiple meetings riders have come to the tapes with yellow only.

Surely these are basics like making sure you ride in the correct race and should meet with fines if not correctly followed?

It really comes down to the referee. Some are sticklers and will fine riders for the wrong helmet colours being worn, others don't mind as long as it's "obvious".

There was a mini-clamp down when they brought the yellow/black back from just yellow but I've noticed its gone again.

Helmet colours themselves, Ive never known it be an issue, in fact in the past riders have had 4 helmets, red, blue, white and yellow/black and changed it for each heat but have been known to wear a helmet colour, presumably because a helmet got damaged.

Thats a bigger fiddle your way. Rider comes out for his 4th ride, touches the tapes and is replaced but for average purposes he now score 0 from 1 lowering his average. It's one of the things the BSPA/SCB have right.

I might have quoted poorly, I meant that every letter and score should be counted as a ride. Apart from N and that happens when a heat is taken from you in advance. Like tac sub or similar.

Even if you win as a rider by lowering your avg, your team loses at that moment (not necessarily true 10/10). So there some justice in it all. Maybe.
