Dan Greenwood replaces the injured Hume. That’s better than I thought they’d manage tbf.

R/R means 2 rides for the reserves, and one for Walker & Flint. So 5 points at best! Greenwood can score at least 6 points surely, he’s done much better than that in the past too even if he tailed off last year.

it shows the leagues down to the bare bones when a rider who had completely gone at the game is replacing one of the better riders in the division

A couple of seasons ago Dan was a very promising rider averaging around 9 points in the NL, I think he had a nasty shoulder injury and that knocked his confidence and set him back?

We all know that speedway is a confidence sport, so we'll just have to wait and see how Dan handles that part of his make-up?

He has a lot ability, or did have.....

I think the B'ham fans are happy if Dan can be a good 2nd string as we have 3 decent heat leaders already?

We have to be practical !

Think his average is/was too high ? and I also think that Dan's location (West MIds) may have played a part ? (from a financial point of view?)

I think the cost of running a speedway team is probably just hitting our new owners, as we have had 5/6 away meetings on the bounce, where riders have to be paid without any 'home' meeting income?

Just a thought?

Hume’s average is 8.80 but Knight 8.83.

Dont think we can sign a rider on Hume's current average either? I read somewhere that it has to be equal or lower than his season's starting average?

Which is 7. something? not sure how true that is though ?

You can sign a rider up to the average of the rider you replace unless your combined average is below the points limit which obviously doesn't apply to Brum.
