Reassessed Averages

Recommended Posts

If Holder is being reassessed, then so should Doyle and Lindgren.

Holder has an average. There is no reason to reassess him. His average is not from the old format.

For me, any current or previous year GP rider should have a minimum average of 8. The fact that they are GP standard should overrule any lower average that they get. Chris Holder’s current average has several explanations, none of which fairly makes him a true 7.16 standard rider for next season. This season’s personal issues and unhappiness at Kings Lynn (whether intentional “average dropping” or not) should not allow a team to take advantage of that next season.

A minimum 8 rule would not affect those who achieved more, such as Doyle and Lindgren.

Fair enough I read your post wrong but Woryna should be a 4.65 because that's the average he achieved in Britain.

But if the BSPA are reassessing ALL riders who didn't ride here in 2017 then it's unlikely he will stay at 4.65.

That's the only point I was trying to make. And that isn't an anti Poole stance in the slightest.

I don't know why anyone is being reassessed. Woffinden shouldn't Pawlicki shouldn't Zagar shouldn't and neither should Woryna.

Its a different set up over here and they achieved those averages. The whole thing is silly tbh

The 2017 league was significantly weaker than in previous years. Therefore it makes perfect sense to reassess any rider who didn't ride in 2017.

Personally it should be done on a calculated percentage, rather than an arbitrary value, but something is better than nothing.

God you talk such utter crap... No doubt Matt Ford, the man you place on a mantel, is so ashamed of the association you have bestowed with him

Whatever the reasons, good or bad about this decision, once again its the timing that stinks and just howls of petty self interest.

When the Agm decisions where announced, specifically the 1 over 8 why wasnt the GP 9 point rule announced at the same time?

There had been lots of tweets from the top lads saying they werent interested in a UK ride or they had signed up for foreign leagues with the spectre of the Polish ruling hanging over them, so why would you give it any thought.

Then Zagar tweets about wanting to return.

Think where he was likely to go and you get the sole reason for this hasty rewrite

This is a good point actually. Nothing was mentioned about this until Zagar said that he wanted to ride here.

Almost right, Piort Pawlicki had also been in contact with Wolverhampton about a return too.

It's stated on another thread that CVS stated that Matt Ford was the driving force behind the 9pt rule.

Of course he was; so he can get his annual advantage, fiddling Holder in on 7.16.

Was this made public prior to the rewrite via social media or in the press?

Did those riders ride in Britain - YES

Did they end up with a certain average based on points scored - YES

Not sure, but it makes perfect sense. You can be sure Ford would have been aware of it though.

So here's how it should work. The cunning plan.

Doyle, Lindgren (?) and Bjerre, the three wise men, toddle off in a nice orderly fashion and sign for Somerset, or Kings Lynn, or Rye House.

Those splendid people who now own Leicester have already sorted themselves out, so whew, chaps, no need for them to have any favours granted, which is just as well.

But what's this?? The three wise men don't really fancy hanging around these isles any more, say it's not top of their Christmas list. Oh, bu**er.

Having done the decent thing, Leicester now get thwocked over the head with a heavy frying pan as their reward, with Mr Vaculik being penalised for being GP rider, heinous crime that it is.

And news also comes through that the planes carrying Woffinden and Zagar have been turned away from UK airspace as they are now classed as undesirables.

Over at BT towers, talks are going on about the TV deal for 2018.

"Is this right Mr Russell, this top league is losing three of it's top riders, and is stopping two more from coming back?"

" Maybe, but there's Vaculik, Cook, Holder (maybe) and, err....well, there's Harris and Nicholls and Kasprzak, they used to be in the GP's of course."

Meanwhile in the areas around The Wash and The Somerset Levels, the water levels are rising and the lifeboats are on standby.....

Didnt Holder only complete 9

league meetings for the stars, out of 28?

If he aint reassessed then its bent.

Going off previous, he wont be reassessed.

If a sport is bent, why bother?
