Not really big news is it ? Trump won Texas, so the woman didn’t do much good :D

Maybe because Texas took away dozens of drop in boxes so that thousands of voters were unable to vote.

Voted to start impeachment proceedings, rather than impeached him.

No- congress have impeached him- what the Senate do regarding convicting him is another matter.( as in impeachment 1)

10 Republicans plus 4 not voting. Apparently this is the highest number of the President's own party voting to impeach in history.

All means nothing unless the Senate comes through......I live in hope of that happening.

Of course it was inspired by Trump and his other sycophants !!!!  He was impeached yesterday because  of his inciting  the mob to carry out insurrection, all fuelled by his lie about the election being stolen.

Just wondering Bluey, do you ever have any thoughts of your own or do you just slavishly repeat ridiculous posts on Twitter without any thought or investigation as to whether they are true or not? And can you reference the CNN Breaking News story direct that says the riot was not inspired by President Trump?

I can't see any other outcome than conviction. Not for legal or moral reasoning. Sufficient number of Republicans will convict because it will suit them politically to make the break from Trump when the trial arrives at the Senate. Why? (warning...bullet points coming.....Blu-mpet )

  • The trial will likely be in Feb/Mar when the context is a much calmer
  • As the minority party, it will suit the Republicans to create common ground with the Democrats to have any level of influence going forward. It's bridges they need now..not walls
  • There will be further revelations emerging from departing officials and Trump himself to further toxify the brand. As every day goes by, it becomes more toxic and he loses the protective gates of the Office, more revelations will pour out and it aint going to be pretty for him, his family and his party
  • Opposing conviction effectively endorses the insurrection
  • There is nothing to be gained in standing by an outgoing, defeated President
  • Yes, there were 74m votes, but he lost. Heavily in the popular vote and the electoral college. Incumbents rarely lose. He did. Heavily. And given the last few weeks, if the election were re-run tomorrow he would be demolished. Biden has spoken like a President. Trump has spoken like that weird drunken uncle who no-one really wanted at the family party anyway. Why on earth would you nail your colours on the mast of a sinking ship?
  • Of those Trump voters, it would be foolish to imagine there are 74m people like the hard core nutters we see in the media at rallies and invading congress last week. That's about as accurate as believing there are millions in the Middle East dancing in the streets on burning US flags every day. It makes good news footage, but it isn't an accurate holistic picture. There will be far more Republican voters who held their nose voting for Trump, but will shed no tears that he lost. These are the people the Republican party need to hang onto going forward to have any hope of power

Anyway...to quote everyone's favourite forum conspiracist and his cross-dressing alter ego.... "Patience...not long to go now" :D

I did see something that the riot was planned. Something about how did all those people living at home manage to pay for all their protective gear or funny animal costumes and the air fares and hotels etc other than someone was giving all those right wing terrorists funds.....but hey, I don't just fall for everything that is posted on the internet, like some

Only 10 Republicans voted for impeachment. The rest it seems are banana republicans

Bild könnte enthalten: Text „Nur zehn Republikaner stimmten für ein zweites Amtsenthebungsverfahren gegen Donald Trump. Die restlichen Abgeordneten sind anscheinend Bananenrepublikaner. Republikane Demokraten Bananenrepublikaner heute 20F SHOW“
