With Cookie missing out, I think Lambet will get a wildcard.

Why?    If folk are playing the age card Max Fricke should come into equation. Robert had great World Cup, overshadowed Cookie BUT Cookie has now outscored him in Cardiff and Landschut

Hopefully Cookie goes on to prove in the rest of the 2018 GP series that he deserves a wildcard in 2019. Especially having just missed out in the qualifying series of meetings.

It is a one off-final event. Riders do one qualifier then there is the single final . Points does not carry over from the qualifier.
There are no multiple qualification and/or  semi-rounds. One dodgy exclusion or two could determine the outcome
of the entire GP-challenge.

Thanks. You said exactly what I meant and saved me saying it ;)

Because the age factor is relevant. Fric ke could be considered but unlikely if holder gets a wildcard.Drabik would get one if the Poles didnt have so many qualified. Lambert is more likely than cook to be competitive.

With tonigh't result and current GP-standnings i think BSI will pick Doyle+C. Holder+Lambert+? for wild cards.

If Holder doesn't make top 8, I am not sure they will give him a wild card again. Fricke must stand a good chance of getting one. Didn't make the challenge but for a few years now Leon Madsen's form on the continent has been right up there with the best,  plus a second Dane would be welcomed by organisers.

If people are saying Pedersen shouldn’t get a wildcard neither should Holder. Age is hardly relevant when you have the Grin still circling at speed nearer 50 than 40.

Quite possibly the worst challenge result for many a year. None of them have or will add much to the GPs.

Yes, BSI must be wincing at that result.

One can't use two meetings as merit to pick this or that rider. One could also your argument to claim that Cookie have only
been good at two meetings (Cardiff and tonight) but Lambert does well in both Poland (1st division) and Sweden (Elitserien) while
Cookie doesn't ride in those leagues at all. IMO Lambert has a much higher capacity then Cookie and also much higher potential.

Take your point but Lambert had a good World Cup, has won a round of the Euros, tops the British averages, is performing well in Sweden and Poland on a regular basis and is the best non Polish U21 in the world at present. Cook has been poor in the GP's other than Cardiff so if it was a straight choice between the two right now Lambert would have to get the nod.

Might all be different come October of course.

Agree with you re Poland and Sweden Bagpuss. Don’t even know if Craig tried to get a spot in Sweden. Financially made sense to go to Land of Milk and Money and sign for Cashflow Tiggers when he wasn’t getting picked for Polish team but perhaps doesn’t send out the right message ambition wise in sport though he is desperate to succeed on world stage. Feel he is unjustly knocked a bit by folk south of Midlands.

Cook needs to do less talking though, excuses don't go down  well ,its tuners that is the subject again, think financially he has thrown lot of money away trying to keep up with the big guns. His Polish form was mediocre,  he might get another chance who knows.Lambert has stepped up this season and certainly has more potential. The GP Challenge always throws up funny results on the night we just have to except that.Put that same meeting on Polish track and  Cook would be lucky to be in the Top 10 IMO .

Cookie does engage a lot on Twitter with fans. Has got caught with the Glasgow publicity gig too. Perhaps needs to keep his powder dry a bit. Not techy at all but he has changed his set up a lot.

Interesting times ahead re wild cards. Especially if 3 former world champions finish outside top 8
