Tsunami 10,219 Posted December 3, 2017 Speedway will suffer with lack of continuity with present number of fixtures,it should be a regular weekly event at each track,if not fans just seem to get out of the habit otherwise IMO.Either that or shorten the season accordingly allowing a couple of weeks for rain offs etc.April- Sept should be the season now. That allows leeway is things go wrong. The fixtures usually do have a break date regularly through the year, which are then snapped when we have early rainoffs. foamfence 2,917 Posted December 3, 2017 Short season that's the usual in Poland, Sweden etc and the less meetings less chance of having to freeze your crown jewels off in March and October Assuming we're going to miss those months. There'll be some moaning from some riders about all of this though.
CookieIpswich 249 Posted December 3, 2017 Personally I like less matches, also believe the domestic calendar should run from April until early September Also believe more individual meetings should be in there such as British championship extended to a mini GP series at 5 venues rather than a one off Riders championship and best pairs to be run over a 3 round format 4TT should have qualifying rounds then the four finalists should host a home leg These meetings would compliment the league and cup matches well

foxxy 7 Posted December 3, 2017 Ipswich 2018 Season tickets are now on sale and state that they will cover 18 Championship meetings and 1 Knockout Cup fixture. Presumably we must be riding just some of the teams twice.

tocha 306 Posted December 4, 2017 cant work that one out , some of the teams riding twice `1 The correct info is on the season ticket application form:- 13 meetings (10 league, 2 LC, 1 KOC) plus challenge/16 lapper.
jenga 2,998 Posted December 4, 2017 ah well , at least most teams will be finished before the kids hokidays , so no need for kids for a quid and all that stuff . pretty poor make up of the 2018 fixtures and will almost certainly drive aeay more supporters .
SCB 0 Posted December 4, 2017 Will make a nice change not squashing 100s of meeting into September and October. Who am I kidding? You know they'll not run a meeting June-August so they can have the annual fixture cram in the winter months!

You know they'll not run a meeting June-August so they can have the annual fixture cram in the winter months! Of course it is the Football World Cup around July, so some fixtures are likely to go missing around that time.
