I'm sure it will get better once the big nations clash . Lambert very impressive

Friday and Saturday will be better, he needs to go with Lambert and keep Cookie at reserve...

How on earth it ever got past the idea stage ,i'll never know

But surely after this they will have trouble next season attracting tracks to host these meetings and fans to attend, let alone 3 man teams from all these countries....

The thing is Iris is that so many of us in here said that this would be a load of rubbish, last year when it was first announced, but we were put in our places by the experts such as Rising, who said it should be great and better than the old format!!..... To be fair, the "two" finals have got to be better than the absolute trash we have witnessed so far but these first two "qualifiers" have been a complete waste of time and more fool anyone wasting good money on these farces.

The qualifications are always going to have the top v lesser teams.   We will see a few similar matches in the World Cup qualification round.  Come the final we will have teams all much closely matched.

The empty seats will only come as surprise to bsi, when will speedway realise it is too expensive in Britain, be it bsi or bspa

£25 for Grandstand, £20 for standing and a fiver for kids would have filled the place and actually made it look like a bona fide contest of some importance and relevance...

I have been to 'Car boot sales' over the past couple of weeks with more in attendance than are at the NSS tonight...

Pretty sure I paid less for me an my lad to attend the SWC race off AND Final combined at the NSS a couple of years ago...

Ridiculous pricing..

Good to see Fricke up and clearing the track, just a shame it was at the expense of seeing decent action from Doyle & Lindgren.

Early rounds of SWC tend to be pretty average. 2 strong teams against 2 teams with no hope. Lets wait till Saturday night to pass judgment.
But yes these race off meetings are pretty dire...

Right, lets see if the NSS track delivers, I think GB will win it, Sweden second.

So far it certainly has not delivered much apart from Freddie's great pass on Doyle. Otherwise a total non event.

Not really true.

Vastervik last year we had

Sweden 37

Russia 30

Latvia 28

Denmark 28

Year before in Vojens we had

Poland 39

Denmark 36

Russia 32

and we should remember it would have been better most years if Russia had actually put out their best team......

We have a problem that there aren't that many strong countries and by putting even more weak countries into the meetings isn't going to help the quality

More to do with the gulf in class between the nation's rather than the track . The final is shaping up to be a cracking meeting and if it is we'll soon forget the turgid qualifiers . Every sport has these mis matches during a qualifying process .

The difference is that in SWC 3 out of 4 teams in each semi are pretty good (if you would remove seeding); Swe, GB, DK, Pol, Rus & Aus.
These teams primarily fight for first place to avoid race-off and there are usually quite tight results.

Doesn’t help that Phil Morris has been stopping them from putting any  water down!

The SWC improved in the qualifiers after some tweaking. If you remember back to when there were three qualifying rounds they were pretty much non events in the main.
