That is lack of self belief from Cook and the manager added to that loss by the way its been handled.

Of course it is but it's the way he's made, not everyone is brimming with self confidence, doesn't mean they can't succeed, unfortunately he's chosen a career that, once you reach the top end, it does require a whole new approach, hopefully he's able to make the leap.

I can't fault Rossiter for putting Lambert in and leaving him in last night, Cookie just has to knuckle down and do his best if required at the weekend.

I agree with you, but third was not a bad ride first ride. If Rosco didn't wan't to make a change, then why did he not give Cook the chance to ride in his second heat against the Finns

Cook was on a warning. Quite simply, why run the risk?

Also the plan was always to give Cook a ride, then Lambert one. Lambert did better.

Later in the meeting it could have backfired tremendously putting a cold Cook back in when qualification wasn't certain.

As a manager what do you do for a man lacking in self belief ?      It's not to pick him as first choice then drop him after one ride.

No I wasn't, so as such I am in a much better position to give an opinion. You saw things once, in real time, I saw them several times, in slow motion.

Well done for ruining your own argument.. not that you had one.

We understand. You're a bitter Belle Vue fan, still seething over losing the league in 2016. That's all there is to it.

I made the journey from workington so no bitter fan

I thought Cook was worth one more go, especially against the Fins

He wasn't necessarily first choice. I would say that Cook and Lambert were there as equals - and then given a ride each to see which one was better to use. Lambert won his heat so was kept in. It was a common sense decision.

The only reason Lambert was at reserve was because his age gave us better options. Otherwise he would have probably been in the top two anyway.

No problem having Lambert in front of Cook.   Current form says that is an easy pick.   But why embarass Cook with one ride and then drop him.

It's just the way the cookie crumbles I guess. Life's like that.

I for one am pleased GB have the strength-in-depth that allow us to drop a GP rider and replace him with an u21 who can hold his own.

THE perceived wisdom at the NSS yesterday before the start was that Rossiter should give both Cook and Lambert an outing in GB's first two appearances and proceed with who ever fared better. Which he did. Woffinden is obviously energised by the new set-up (though not all of it) and also with the Final on his home Polish track could lead GB to a medal at least. He is as good as any other rider there  and if Lambert can pick up a few points it is a feasible result. 5-1s will be hard to come by although the Danes and Germans look vulnerable especially if Lindback rides to the level that we know he can achieve.

Which parts is he not happy with?  As he said?
