2 In a league of only 11 teams , there's no reason to start the season before the middle of April

Good point, speedway never ever learns from this. However there are plenty of blank fixtures throughout the season to slot these fixtures in though I bet some clubs will still end up running double headers towards the end of the season!

Danny Bird used to fly up , so maybe he will .

In the aftermath of the disappointment of a much anticipated weekend of speedway being washed out we have learned three things .

1 The weather is thankfully meant to start warming up this week

2 In a league of only 11 teams , there's no reason to start the season before the middle of April

3 From certain posters on here apparently only Edinburgh have proper rain offs . Everybody else , especially Glasgow , have an ulterior motive for calling a meeting off lol .

agree with you totally on number 2 . only then will it become a PART TIME SPORT  for riders and the people actually promoting it will reap the rewards for footing the bill for so long .

make it a summer SPORT again and lose all these money grabbing riders . I.M.O.

There is only light rain forecast and like mentioned above it hasn't rained in workington for the past couple of days. Hasty decision imo, an they wonder why crowds are down. Ian Thomas would never of called a meeting this early with only light showers forecast.

Bet your eating your words now Midget , it’s absolutely pee’d it down all day here in Workington and I’m 10mins from the track so the right decision was made , still coming down , damned if you damned if you don’t . Plenty would have been on here whinging had they called it off this afternoon after looking at the forecast

Yeh, I seen both teams at full strength too. Comets had call off on Twitter over 3 hrs ago,  weather forecast changed. Disappointed there was no mention on Border news last night after good coverage last week.  It is raining now and has been for a while.

Will Chris Harris always drive to Glasgow or is it feasible to have bikes there and fly from Exeter sometimes?
