Stoke v Coventry 14-04-18

Recommended Posts

I would like to think Bees will come out on top in this meeting. I believe Bees will be full strength for this. Thoughts.

Met office forecast has Stoke dry all this afternoon and evening and then dry all day Saturday.

How can it be off 36 hours in advance?

Joke Potters.

There press release said track won't be ready with rain tonight but you're right no rain seems to be forecasted.

Stoke bowl just holds water and surely better than riders arriving and then decision made to not race in a swamp. Early signs have Stoke struggling to get all the fixtures in again

If the riders arrive in dry weather at a place that has been dry for 36 hours plus,  why would they be racing in a swamp?

If a track can't be prepared with 36 hours of dry weather, the SCB need to be looking at the competence of the track curator.

Or are we now to call off any meeting at any track where it has rained within the last two days or so?

Why is Stoke always the club struggling to complete their fixtures because of an extraordinary number of dodgy call-offs?

Amazing they can find enough gullible riders to make a team, when it's always the same story.

If Eastie had 36 hours of dry weather before a meeting, even now would probably be watering it!  Never been to Stoke but the drainage must be really bad not to get a meeting on.

It’s embarrassing when your last sentence is actually accurate!

Lovely sunny evening in Stoke. Been cracking the flags all afternoon.

How can a meeting can be lost to the weather with no rain to be seen?

Doesn't bode well for the rest of the season.

But it rained 2 weeks ago...

I wouldn't mind but those Richards people were meant to have done all the drains a couple of years ago and I remember going and having a look at the work in progress and they certainly seemed to be doing a pretty major job.

Tattum and co were banging on about how there would be a lot less rain-offs in the future. Another figment of someone's imagination methinks,

And the Gloomy Roadsters don't need to bother trolling over to the Buxton Sheep Fanciers tomorrow because their Joseph Lucas ( the Prince of Darkness) generator has given up the ghost.

This is all turning into a bit of a shambles.

Not sure what we could do when it breaks down around 6pm on a Saturday evening. Rest assured we will be on the case on Monday to get it sorted.

Yeah I was suggesting that there’s been plenty of time to work on the track.
