RIP Ivan Mauger OBE

Recommended Posts

A truly great Speedway rider and a wonderful example to others.

I was fortunate to watch him ride throughout the 70’s and win his 4th, 5th and 6th World titles!

R.I.P. Ivan

Terrible news.

Absolute legend, an overused word but wholly deserved in his case.

RIP

Very sad news, I was fortunate enough to watch him ride for Newcastle in the 60's wonderful memories of a great, possibly the greatest ever speedway rider. Rest in Peace Ivan.

Sad news. Having watched Speedway for over 60 years Ivan was, without doubt, the best rider I have seen and his record speaks for itself. My thoughts are with his family and those closest to him.

Very sad we have lost the biggest name in World Speedway. Speedway = Ivan Mauger. The ultimate legend - RIP.

Very very sad to have just seen this on Social Media.

Ivan won the very first speedway race I ever saw, I was only 5 so didn't really know who he was, but was told 'the guy in the red helmet' is the best. I was hooked from then on.

RIP

Very sad news indeed, deepest sympathy to the Mauger family.  Difficult to know what to say that hasn't been said already, except Ivan Mauger was The Best and is still a Hull Vikings legend.  RIP Ivan....

I posted my comment in years  gone by-maybe mistakenly-recall Ivan in 1964 and 1965-best ever in my view.
