Redcar v Newcastle (Shield) - Thursday

Recommended Posts

Redcar have confirmed that JBA misses out due to Danish qualifier, and Paul Starke rides in his place - but why have a guest for such a pointless meeting or I have missed the rules that we have to have a guest rather than R/R?

Surely be more beneficial to the team to have R/R and allow Stewart and MBA to have extra rides at their new home and then also Kus -plus save having to pay expenses.

And against such a weak Newcastle side there is no need for a guest.

Prediction, all down to Busch and Pijper but both could and should hit double figures so Bears by 12

Redcar: Ben Barker, Jordan Stewart, Paul Starke, Mikkel B Andersen, Matej Kus, Tobias Busch, Theo Pijper
Newcastle: Ludvig Lindgren, r/r for Lewis Rose, Tero Aarnio, Matthew Wethers, Stuart Robson, Carl Wilkinson, Ashley Morris

Quite right - give the team extra rides which gives them more track time and also keeps the money in house to benefit Redcar riders pockets which then presumably would be invested into their equipment .

I'm guessing they are worried about Stewarts fitness - may well end up running r/r anyway and better to have a better guest?

Redcar could've used a NL guest, or a no.8 against such a poor Newcastle side,,, it would have saved them a few quid and, gave the Diamonds a sporting chance ;)

Guessing that we are needing to take every meeting seriously after having a wobbly start away from home

To cheer RR up, Newcastle will now also be using a guest instead of rider replacement for Lewis Rose. Kevin Doolan will come in for them.

Think this will be pretty close - Newcastle have riders who have a lot of experience around Redcar and the Bears have 2 riders having their first appearance at the track (assuming Stewart is fit enough to ride)

A lot will depend on the 2 enigmas - Kus and Lindgren.

Not much in it either way.

this will be a measure of Newcastle's strength in depth team

realistically redcar is one of the only 3 tracks we have a chance of taking away points so a minimum of 40 points would be expected

redcar hitting anything over 50 will be very worrying for our future away day travels

I expect a redcar win but given their less than stellar start to the season ... perhaps we could catch them cold

Lindgren is the key man ..... in some meetings at redcar he has been brilliant (its one of his better away tracks)  and given redcars team theres no reason why lindgren couldn't score 12-13 ............. but if he has another away day blue and comes in with only 5-7 ... it could be a long night

The average age of newcastle’s team tomorrow is 32.8 I wonder if that’s the oldest team Newcastle have ever put out in their history ??

The sun is shining and its derby day. Should be a cracker of a meeting in lovely conditions.

Redcar are without Jonas B and Newcastle without Rose. Both guests will not weaken the sides at all so its got the makings of a good one.

Afterwards Cubs v Gems. Stay behind as your support would be most appreciated.

How is this possible when you are riding tonight??  There must be something wrong somewhere!! :D

Will be heading down the A19 for this one.  Hopefully an entertaining meeting with no injuries.

32.8 ... clearly building for the future

hopefully a good meeting with the diamonds bringing their usual hefty away support ............  just a pity the redcar supporters don't seem to know where Newcastle is in the return fixture
