Glasgow Tigers v Edinburgh Monarchs CS Sun April 22nd 2018 at 3pm

Visit half of the meeting we were awful, 2nd half thought we performed pretty well, shame we can’t seem to get everyone going at the same time. Last time out at Ashfield josh was poorvsnd Matt rode well this time it was the other way round. Need both the reserves to be firing if we want to get some points on the road.

At the start of the season the two Monarchs reserves were looking to be a bit of trump card but it has not turned out this way Matt looked shocking in both meetings and with two newbies in the 1-5 the reserves do need to step up.  Track preparation on Friday did not help matters is Doc no longer involved at Armadale.

Easy enough victory today the Monarchs making it more respectable than it probaly should've been but that was more to us taking our foot off the gas rather than them upping it.

Or was it due to having another extensive regrade after ht10 that yet again worked against us. We were in complete control up to that point but in heats 11 - 15 the score was 11-19. That would have finished us off against decent opposition, as it did on several occasions in 2017.

Because they have changed the rules over the winter which gives priority to Poland and a facility in the UK.

Is our governing body now that spineless they just roll over and let Poland tickle their tummy everytime .

Anyway back to yesterday's meeting , thought it was going to be a battering at one point , but the Riss siblings saved face for the Monarchs . Erik was the only Monarch consistently competing out of the gate , though Mark joined him once he got his set up sorted out . Wells was average , but Pickering battled hard for every point . the other two were rubbish .

For us , i don't think we're quite there yet . Vissing was brilliant , heat 14 was an awesome race . Kerr also had a superb meeting . Harris has yet to find his feet at Ashfield , Starke is still a bit up and down , while i don't know what issues Worrall is having , but he looks slow . Four third places is not what you want from your number 1 . The two reserves were steady and did what was expected of them , especially the heat two 5-1 against a supposed stronger pair .

A seven point weekend puts us firmly in control of the group though .

Matt was good at the Scottish cup match at Ashfield but hasn’t done anything really since. Josh seems to be getting there, Ruml is doing well but struggling on the road a little bit that was to be expected but that’s when the reserves need to step up when they haven’t been, Andersson has just been awful.

the boys want the track to be grippy but from speaking to the Riss brothers after Friday they said it was really grippy but it was inconsistent in places and making it difficult to ride, catching a lot of the guys out.

Doc has retired from doing the track now, I believe it’s Ronnie Anderson and the Campbell brothers doing it now.

Is age catching up with Harris ,while not denying he is pure entertainment  but he has  not found points easy to come by when not gating a wee sign of age catching up maybe!!!,or is it really a hard league!!

Sad to say  but Poland even seems to have our League by the short and curlies now.

Really felt it was Harris setup tbh. He gated in one heat and was in third by the 2nd bend. And there seemed to be a lot of fanying around with sprockets near the start
