Premiership 23/04/18 - Leicester v Swindon

Was there another Hemsley-style rant after this collapse? There are two riders who look as if they're heading for the exit door. I also think K.Bjerre is on a false average from his season at the NSS and doesn't produce under pressure.

Bit unfair to judge Kenneth on last night, he was on Lasse's bikes, so let's wait until he's got his own  equipment, but you're probably right his average might be a bit false, but we need to lose a little bit average wise to fit Josh in when he's fit. The Swindon boys' just seemed faster, even early on when Lions were gating &  winning heats, they were hanging on at times, riding defensively to protect the lead. When the Swindon boys' gated they were gone & didn't look like being caught especially Batchelor.

Terrific effort by the Robins last night and I'm glad I went.

I can't remember seeing Troy Bachelor ride that well for a long time.

After the first 6 heats it wasn't looking great as we were 10 points down and hadn't provided a heat winner. Nick had taken a fall in the first heat and according to Rosco's after-meeting comments had felt he'd damaged his number 1 bike and his reserve machine lacked pace. However there seemed to be a concerted team effort and they all dug deep to turn it around.

Everybody contributed, even Mitchell Davey didn't look too far off the pace although he failed to score. A special mention for Zach who continues to improve and he had a great scrap with Kurtz in Heat 12 picking up a valuable 3rd place to give us a 4-2 heat victory.

I know its early days yet but the Robins are shaping up well. I think there's scope in this team for a number of riders to improve their averages this year; Zac Toby and Adam and if Batch can maintain something close to the form he showed last night I think we can compensate for the loss of Doyley.

For Leicester, they look a much better side and I know Bjerre's return of 6 paid 8 was a little disappointing (though according to another poster he was on borrowed equipment last night)  I think he's a very good choice of cover for Vaculik for that track as he's a gating specialist which is big advantage there.

Well done Budgies, onwards and upwards, a very entertaining meeting.

Very good comeback from being 10 down during the meeting, all the riders pulled out the stops and showed what Swindon can do after a couple of rides on an away track.  Feel for our reserves who seem to be putting in a lot of effort and not always getting the scores they deserve, but hopefully that will come.  I thought we would keep within six points of Leicester and get one away point but to win was a real plus and showed what grit the riders have.

Well done Rosco and the team.

Rosco has given the town a team to be proud of, what a great manager. Swindon always at their most dangerous when written off.

Batch a brilliant signing, just need to get Davey firing.

I’m not Batchelor’s biggest fan, but when he’s got his gating gloves on and he’s out in front, he looks a million dollars.

Terrific and in my opinion, unexpected win at Leicester.  Well done Swindon and an excellent start to the season

Man, that was dull! Again! Yes the scoreline was close which made it better than last week but again the track was dry and dusty with no attempt to water it during any of the "races", for the 2nd week running. I've probably seen 2 half decent races out of 30 so far this season at Leicester. Why don't they just pull the track up and start again...

Well done Swindon

Unfortunately I've got to agree with you and I don't think my husband will be going again but just sticking with the Coventry Sunday matches. I'm also finding it a real struggle to get from the shopping centre car park to the stadium so hope the racing gets better to keep my enthusiasm going.

Bachelor's ability has never been in doubt.   Its his Attitude, Arrogance,  and Self importance that fans don't like.   If his persona wasn't so self driven, then probably he would have the support his talent deserves.    If you remember 2 yrs ago every Swindon fans were well pleased he left.  No-body had a good word for him...     Its amazing how quick they can forget this...

Agree with this. Track far too dry again. Scoreline made it interesting. Swindon very good and batchelor and museilak in a different class.

I don't believe anyone has forgotten, but whilst he's scoring like he is, we're all currently quite happy !

As a Lynn supporter, i  don't like the bloke.. But he can be a top rider as he is proving so far this season. His antics at Lynn( injured) and scoring well as a guest the next night is just one example.

Another one. Guest for BV at Poole, scored 1....... For his team scored 12, 6 days later.

Batchelor has done his time. He made his bed and for punishment was sent to Kings Lynn. We all know how that ended.

If he was a bad apple, as you are seeming to suggest, why has Rosco re-engaged him for a third time?

If Batch was that disruptive or so self centred he wouldn’t be part of this or any Swindon team under Rosco.
