Fixed night farce-how much longer

Fixed race nights will always fail when one of the nights is Monday. I'd better not mention wolves as their obtuse fans will get upset

Just because they ride Monday's doesn't mean it's great for them either, I've watched their crowds drop over the years attending as an away fan since the late '80's watching section after section of the stadium being closed off due to lack of numbers... makes you wonder what crowds they could get if they didn't race Monday's

Poole v Redcar. That’ll pull them in!

You're so insulting I'm embarrassed for you. It wasn't that long ago the mighty Poole was in the second tier, can remember going to Enfield park to watch them lose.

You are incorrect, Ladbrokes who own the stadium, decided to close the home straight, nothing to do with lack of speedway numbers. In 1996 when Wolves reached the KO Cup final we had to race the 'home' leg of the final at Long Eaton while alterations to the greyhound track were going on. Not exactly ideal eh ? But renting a track, you are totally in the hands of the landlord.

Ok, but surely you take my point that even the crowds have dropped off alarmingly at wolves over the years. Agree that they're in the hands of the landlords, as are many others, I was just suggesting that if anybody said Mondays work at wolves nobody knows because we don't know how many they'd get on any other day of the week because they've always run on Mondays (due to the landlords)

When I started taking an interest in speedway Wolves ran on Fridays. When did they change to Mondays?

1 or 2 NL riders in each team - maybe more, maybe 6 man teams. There wasn't going to be enough riders for BL2 back in the day - within 3 years they were breeding world class talent

It isn't great for them, it is a fact Adams has been on the radio moaning about the crap support and they can't even fill a little terrace on the home straight.

This and the Monday night experience at Belle Vue, both dog track and NSS, demonstrate the futility of trying to run on a Monday night.

Really odd this ..Wolves have done really well over years while running on a Monday  other clubs has gone bust or lost loads of money like Eastie who ran on a weekend . But now because Belle Vue don't like running  on Mondays somehow running on a Monday is now  a massive problem for Wolves ?

Sorry, it was last season when Adams was moaning on the radio. No moaning (so far?) this season but they did bin off lindgren and made up a ludicrous excuse (GP 9.0 lol!) for not signing woofinden and pawlicki, which might have helped the cashflow a bit?

Speedway has a sense of anticipation and occasion when it's staged at the weekend.

Mondays and Tuesdays are the most anti-climatic days of the week coming straight after the weekend and are the worst possible days to run speedway.

Disagree. For those that work for someone, Sundays can be a day of dread knowing they have to bow to their boss in the morning. Monday speedway gives something to look forward to.

Tuesdays in Sweden seems to work ok. Poole on a Wednesday is fine. Promotions just need to promote.

One big league is nonesense. Fans will not come for Poole v Redcar or Berwick. How is that going to pack out stadiums?

Clubs like Sheffield and Ipswich should be in the top flight and they way they acted when the premership wanted Mondays and Thursdays was frankly disgraceful.

Good god no. Don’t want anything other than 7 man teams. 5 man teams to repetitive.

Cant really believe what you write most of the time...................no wait yes i can!

I hope your happy in your world of 4 teams in a league, 7 riders and Poole winning it.

Maybe one day you may look at the bigger picture but i doubt it

Your right everything has to suit Belle Vue and their new stadium .

Monday nights were never a problem for Wimbledon when Ronnie Moore was racing!

As a kid going to school, I never had a problem with enjoying the racing and doing my school work so I have never understood why the kids of today can't go racing during the week.

When I was working I went to lots of Speedway and Stock Cars during the week and still was able to do my job the next day. I am now a pensioner but always busy on weekends so I am very pleased the Premiership races on Monday and Wednesday.

I think that two equal leagues running in the North and South would be a good idea with the top teams going into the Play offs at the end of the season. We currently have 19 teams in the top two divisions so 10 in one and 9 in the other would seem a good idea. Top three in each league go into the Play off and the rest go into a Trophy competition which with 13 teams should be split into four groups of 3/3/3/4 and the top team in each group goes forward to Semi Finals run over two legs with the winners going to the final which is also run over two legs.

I do not believe the fans who currently stay away will return as they will always find a reason to dislike the way the sport is being run. I am not keen on the way the BSPA does some things but still enjoy watching four riders of similar ability over four laps and so go as often as I can. To my mind staying away only makes it less likely that things will improve.

Yep the three figure crowds at Wolves are great.
