Congratulations to Robert Lambert on becoming British Champ, he`s in a rich vein of form right now. If he keeps that up until Cardiff he could really surprise a few.

If that field in Germany can host a GP , then a second GP in Britain at the NSS should be possible

BV alienates the whole south of the UK as it is so far north.

So, using your logic does Poole alienate the whole of the north of the UK as it is so far south??

In fact in terms of the UK, Manchester is rather more in the middle.

after reading all the positive stuff on this thread about the NSS,and rightly so, it should be positive, makes you wonder if that the biggest issue in British speedway is shyte tracks?

I remember Newcastle’s first meeting of 2016 and Bewley was Workingtons number 8 and he had 1 ride and scored a point when Steve Worrall ret. He wasn’t far off the pace then and I said to mates he looks a great prospect even though he only looked about 10 years old. He then had a bad crash at Newcastle on 28th August when riding for Edinburgh and never rode again that season

I remember his first official race, it was at Wolves, riding against spoons, you could see straight away he had something different.

He can ride big tracks that require sheer speed, Belle Vue, and small tracks that require skill, Wolves.

If he stays fit then the sky is the limit for him

I believe Louis purchased his first bike and equipment in the Autumn of 1969, and went to as many training schools as he could over the winter before taking his first competitive ride in 1970. I take your point about Lee, i actually rode at Mildenhall with him when he was only 15.

Dan has certainly exploded on the scene in a short space of time, and hopefully he will go on to become a world class rider like PC, Lee and Louis. Don't see any reason why he can't go on to great things...

Both John Louis and Michael Lee had a scrambling up bringing.   Andy Lee  had hoped Michael would follow him into the world of Moto-Cross, but he choose speedway.  John Louis was an accomplished Moto-crosser for many years. Riding from an early age , mostly in the Eastern Counties he attained a high standard and was a regular winner.  He worked as store Manager in Dave Bickers Motorbike shop in Ipswich.    It has been reported he didn't start speedway until in his late 20's,   but he was no stranger to competition.    An immensely talented Motorcyclist ....

Scrambling's lost was Speedway's gain...       As it happened other scramblers followed Louis lead and moved into speedway...

That is a major factor because of them are not suitable for the ultra high powered modern rocket bikes. Processions develops easily in a very high percentage of races coming out of the 2nd bend 1st lap. Even at the NSS last night there were a handful of them.

I think its noticeable in recent years how many times riders fall off unchallenged - as bikes have become more powerful, they seem to be a bit more unpredictable as well.

MASNY will tell you that the modern day speedway bike is totally unsuitable for British tracks. Belle Vue, more like a typical Polish track, is the exception.

Many British tracks are far to narrow going into and coming out of the bends, mainly because of the constraints of other sports at those venues. Not enough have multiple racing lines where riders don't have to form an orderly queue and the end of each straight.

I would love to see that, other than Woffy another young Brit doing the business, unheard off.

As with football the play off's keep several clubs season alive.     They generate income and excitement.  Not ideal for the league winner to be potentially beaten but revenue is vital and these meetings probably generate the biggest crowd of the seasons for most clubs.

Absolutely.

the Play Offs are vital business for clubs and the sport. And no surprise the biggest crowds. Big time speedway and long may that continue.

It is!

Maybe people are finally waking up to this.  Rules on track sizes/shapes need to be changed.
