Scorpions v Lakeside 22.6.18 7.30pm

Recommended Posts

At least we know Steve & Stefan will not be riding due to their absence in the list for the 4's at Redcar. A decent guest up to the limit of 7.51 is my preferred choice.

Another away win for the home track specialists. That must be 9 or 10 wins on the bounce now.

Lakeside were good tonight but the home side had some dreadful luck

Scorpions gifted that one away... fair play to Lakeside, took advantage of our misfortune and costly mistakes.

Disappointing home loss again, we need our injured back asap before its too late.

After a few dodgy opening heats the racing improved and turned into a quite entertaining meeting, some great racing, just a shame from a Scunny point of view that we lost.... only got ourselves to blame though!

Well done Lakeside.

First of all well done Lakeside.

Reserves scores in the last 3 home matches

6. Danny Phillips - 1', 0, F/X, 0, 1, 0 = 2+1 ... he should know the home track by now and 1 of those points was in a 3 rider finish
7. Gino Manzares - 1, R, 1, F/X = 2

Peterborough loss
6. Danny Phillips 1, 2, 0, 0, 0 = 3
7. Jordan Stewart (G) 0, 0, 0, 0 = 0

Newcastle win..
6. Danny Phillips 0, 0, 0, 0 = 0
7. Todd Kurtz (G) 1, 2', 1, 0, 2', 0 = 6+2

As shown against Peterborough and Lakeside you arent going to win many matches with reserves scoring like that, coupled with #1 guests scoring 6pts from 4 rides (Wright), 8 from 5 rides (schlein), 7 from 4 rides (Howarth)... sure Worral would have been hitting 10-12 pts at home.

Still think we can reach the play offs but we need Worral back and even more important is for Neilsen to get fit soonest, having the reserves taking 2 of his rides when they are not scoring is killing us.

Sorry but it is time for Danny to go. 5 points from 15 races  speaks for itself. A very pleasant young man but it seams to me ( and others ) that his hart is not in the cut and thrust of Championship racing .Racing for Coventry v Cradley 7points from 5 races, and a  league  7.49 average shows lad has the ability to be successful, but just seems to have something missing in his drive to be able to present this form in the Championship .

I do feel for Danny, you can't fault his efforts or commitments to Scunny, and is a top bloke, hes certainly not off the pace either.. Thing is if we was to replace him, which 2 pointer would come in and do a better job than Danny? I'll wait here..
