I can see a lot of riders being forced abroad to supplement their income if they want to remain full time.

Quite where they will go is anybody’s guess as Sweden and Poland seem very tough leagues.

lots of riders find it very difficult to get paid abroad

when you look at the league matchs from sweeden and Poland sometimes the crowds look low compared to some uk meetings

ive often wondered about the big money rumours from such leagues

This surely should never been allowed to happen? Does this mean Hancock can sign for Berwick? And Pedersen for Newcastle?

Craig cook has found his level, can't cut it in poland or the gps, I think he's accepting this by agreeing to this move.

Wish Cookie all the best, understand the need to earn some cash with a young family to support. Really hoped he would have cracked Poland this year and he would have taken his career  up another level. Hope he hasn’t given up on his dreams by coming back to division 2.

You can`t have seen many league matches from Sweden and Poland, because there crowds easily out number the UK. A couple of teams in Poland  have hit hard times and their crowds are poor namely Bydgoszcz and Krakow but the rest are getting decent attendances.

ive seen a few where theres a few small groups of people and then empty spaces

maybe the tv just dosnt show the crowd

maybe the large stadium ones make it look like theres less in but the crowds are no where near what they were in Poland when gollob was racing

Why not? If their average fits within the team limit then I don’t see the problem. Why the panic about it from some people?

The main league ? Strange as it may seem , we only give token attention to the so called main league . We have our own version and are quite happy with our lot . Our teams are trying to build the best possible sides that budgets will permit and we all have weekend slots in which to follow our sides home and away . We dont view our riders as doubling up , theyre just guesting in some other league as a way to earn extra cash . It only affects us when one of our boys , sadly Lewis Kerr , gets injured whilst moonlighting . As for moving up , get real , we're all weekend tracks , why would we want to race on a Monday and Wednesday , look at poor Rye House .

Yes. The top division should be the main speedway league and the one that clubs aspire to be in. As long as this is not the case, and we have two leagues using the same riders, the sport will continue to dwindle and lack any real credibility.

Probably not the best example of moonlighting mate considering we trained him up from a novice and lives ten miles from the track.

This thread is more proof of how speedway will never prosper in the UK as its always 'us and them' rather than all clubs working together.

Agree with you on Poland, Sweden tend to have poor crowds

Yes - 4473 at Eskilstuna  yesterday for Smederna v Rospiggarna. the Elitserien in Sweden constantly get bigger crowds than GB !!

Although Cook technically rides in the GP's hardly anyone with a brain in their heads would call him a GP rider. As soon as his qualification was confirmed by default as Dudek was already in the series pretty much everybody I spoke to knew he would be an embarrassment like Harris has been for the last few years.

Craig Cook will be a very good no1 at Championship level, not so much in the premiership and that's his limit I'm afraid.

Now for the backlash of my opinion!
