Are Poole’s team changes fair?

Recommended Posts

Poole’s wheelings and dealings now give them a team that would have had a starting average at the beginning of the season of 46.74.

Swindon have been forced to make one change and their team would have been 41.93.

Poole have now used 12 riders. Is it fair to allow a team to make so many changes and to gain a 5 point advantage over what might be temporary losses of form?

Should teams be allowed no more than two tactical changes?

All within the rules!

That’s the point. Should the rules be changed?

Poole have only three riders of their original seven and have dropped the other four in tactical switches, not due to injury.

the holder situation was out of there hands, and sundstrom asked to be dropped

Removing Poole from the argument (is not all about them all the time)  I think there should be a maximum number of changes per season. Back in 2002 Wagstaff used twenty odd riders across the season and it was ridiculous, it was impossible to bond with most of the team as they kept getting replaced.

Operate squads if need be but any more than three or four non injury changes is too many.

Still not convinced about that.  "Linus, we are bringing in Harris.  Do you want to say you asked to be dropped or should we tell everyone you were canned?"

I haven’t counted Holder and even if we believe the line about Sundstrom it falls outside an injury replacement and so should be one of a limited number of tactical changes.

I would change the present day for the 70s 80s any day, you might get the odd change but all in all it was the bulk of the team year after year, you would get that bond with the riders

Yes it is fair and team changes should never be restricted
