Are Poole’s team changes fair?

Poole’s wheelings and dealings now give them a team that would have had a starting average at the beginning of the season of 46.74.

Swindon have been forced to make one change and their team would have been 41.93.

Poole have now used 12 riders. Is it fair to allow a team to make so many changes and to gain a 5 point advantage over what might be temporary losses of form?

Should teams be allowed no more than two tactical changes?

Why you moaning DC, its all above board and they all come in on the correct averages or below.. If you are a little concered that we might just steel you thunder have a word with Rosco, perhaps he can chuck a couple of your riders out  just to appease you...;)

Still not convinced about that.  "Linus, we are bringing in Harris.  Do you want to say you asked to be dropped or should we tell everyone you were canned?"

Think you are mixing speedway promoters and the british government up!!

Quite the contrary. I’m in favour of teams keeping as many riders as possible. Poole change their team every month.

Surely its what any team s;port is about - if riders are out of form or not producing the goods you change them within whatever window of opportunity exists, with another who you hope will improve the team's performance.  Speedway is only complicated by having averages!!

If you have a striker in football or a good run-maker in cricket who isn't scoring then you replace them - either temporarily in the hope they can reclaim their form - or permanently.

So many rider changes?

Yet there isn't enough riders to run the Sport properly??

All very strange..

If the riders concerned had done their job there would have been no changes, being 'fair' is irrelevant ...

2 changes have been for Kildemand and then Sundstrom, who have both opted out of the British League themselves - but don't let that get in the way of your arguement as it'd only make it invalid!

Errr ... no..... Shanes and Szzzzzzpaniak increased their averages and were dropped but Kurtz and Grajkzonek have gone down but been kept. It’s all tactical.

So if Swindon were in the same position, you would be happy to see them finish bottom then ?

No argument being made, just an observation...

Another observation, nay, irrefutable fact, is that there are globally more Speedway riders (and of the required calibre), not riding over here than currently do...

And yet, some say, there are not enough riders to run the Sport properly?

Again,  how strange?

We never choose such a bad team in the first place!

Seriously, I think tactical changes should be limited to three and that’s it.

You are quite entitled to your views and express them.

However, taking into account your other Poole posts a question must be asked at your motives.

True Poole changed four riders since the start of the season. Two riders because of their form but the other two because they wanted to leave British speedway. The two brought in for the ones who wanted to leave were one who did not have a top league spot and one who was made unemployed. The other two replaced riders who were "not cutting the mustard". One of these was already an asset and the other who was coming over next year.

Therefore it can be argued Poole have only made two tactical changes. Somerset have made two tactical changes and others at least one. I would not be surprised if other did so by the end of the month.

Just to clear up one point I sponsored Linus and his stepping down is right.

He really wasn’t hitting the standards he sets and felt it best to step down and discover the form he knows he is capable of.

As to team changes during the season it’s surely doing your best for your team within the rules and regulations.

Wether  they are right or wrong is a different issue and surely one of the many that  surely needs looking at.
