Away points won minus home points lost - an update

Recommended Posts

As at Sunday 15th July, THE TABLE THAT MATTERS -

1.   Workington       +11   (9M - 3H/6A)

2.   Peterborough   +8     (13M - 8H/5A)

3.   Lakeside           +7     (12M - 7H/5A)

4.   Edinburgh         +5     (9M - 3H/6A)

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

5.  Glasgow            +1     (10M - 6H/4A)

6= Newcastle         -1     (10M - 5H/5A)

6=  Ipswich             -1     (8M - 4H/4A)

8=  Sheffield            -2    (11M - 5H/6A)

8=  Berwick             -2    (12M - 7H/5A)

10. Scunthorpe      -5     (11M - 6H/5A)

11. Redcar              -9    (12M - 6H/6A)

E&OE

The full season, of course, is 20M - 10H/10A, unless anyone does a 'Rye House', so Workington, Edinburgh and Ipswich are not yet even halfway. Top 4 (as at mid September?) to Play Offs.

Workington should read 2 home 7 away so far mate, we've not even been that busy at home this season? :D

Quite correct. Next time I attempt an update, I'll try to remember to be sober.

Neil, I seem to have asked this before, but have you any date guarantees should Panthers reach the play-offs

So 8 home matches still to race. This might, of course, prove critical as every home match not concluded by 9th September will effectively count as 3 home points lost in this table. Surely rival promoters wouldn't stoop so low as to be awkward in arranging outstanding fixtures at Derwent Park in order to deprive the current leaders of these points, would they ?

Skullduggery, subterfuge, just not playing the game...nah, this is speedway populated by honest folk whom would baulk at such innuendo TW!!:rofl:

Up to now tho someone somewhere is making life very difficult for us to achieve the necessary, we have, at this moment in time, no more Championship meetings to race until the beginning of August of which virtually all of our home meetings were for the Friday night's and are now having to be re-assessed for some other date's not yet forthcoming, so when we will actually start our home campaign is very much up in the air? :unsure:

Is this deliberate, an unfortunate coincidence or a combination of both, who knows but come September and we're fifth and still have 8 home meetings to fit in well....it could get messy!!!! :D

But you know it's True :D

I wonder why our Friday Home fixtures for August are now back in the calendar?

In other news, somewhat coincidentally Mr Worrall is back from injury now, so Mr Godfrey doesn't need any guests.

But the Workington website still only shows dates for 4 of their 8 outstanding home fixtures. It's going to be tough fitting in all the Cup and League matches. How did the Workington promoters allow this to happen ? Surely they had an opportunity to comment on the draft fiixture list before it was finalised ?

it was all okay until the bomb was dropped about no more Friday meetings .

Can't change it as your club has the controls but still can't get the results it wants. With no chance of the play-offs for you as it stands, wonder what will happen next?

Although they are still showing on the calendar, I wouldn't be very confident of them going ahead. Despite severe difficulties in finding new dates (After all these were agreed at the START of the season) the team still are on course for the top 4.

They even cancelled the KOC meeting from last week and still enforced the end of July cut-off date. Wonder what will happen if it's rained off on the 28th and cannot be staged before then..

Despite winning the away leg, those holding the controls may say it's decided on alphabetical order.

Cannot see any evidence at all of the "Management Committee" trying to help our cause.. no wonder then that the conspiracy theorists may have a point LOL!!

Only in Speedway could you virtually 1/2 the home fixture list for the season and they still struggle too fit them all in.Shambles.To make it worst not having weekly fixtures ia damaging attendances at most clubs IMO .

Our club or 1 man does not have the controls. FACT. It is a body of persons that form the BSPA Committee & the promoters had a meeting the other week.

One man does not make a team & others are still injured but "expected" to return by end of the month. Mr Worrall has returned but will take a few meetings to get up to speed as proved with his races at Peterborough & Berwick. The rider missed most, as I have stated before, is Nielsen as r/r have not scored the points he was getting. Then again, neither have some of our guests.
