But what if there is (perish the thought) a four-man pile-up in the first heats?  They will HAVE to have at the very least a local standby reserve each.  Jye EghedidgeofJosh Pi keyring for Aussies, and, er, er, dunno for GB. I get 6-man teams, but.....

I believe ;) that the No.6 is classed as Reserve, has to be the lowest average rider and can have up to 7 rides in total.

5th highest average is classed as a supplementary reserve, but does not have to ride at No. 5.

Great.I was thinking there was more chance of a Scot or two with the track situation, but you are right!!

I saw Stoneman race against the only other active Welsh rider I am aware of a few weeks ago - 52 year old Stoke Potter Tony Atkin.

Up in Glasgow this weekend anyway for the European Track Cycling Championships and some football so this fixture has made the trip for me.

Don't think I've ever felt so uncomfortable with a speedway meeting as I do with this one.
Call me cynical but this surely has to be about 'buying a meeting' rather than a real Test Match?
The Glasgow Promotion is owned by Allied Vehicles who sponsored Team GB in the recent Speedway of Nations so surely this has got to be some sort of payback along with the fact that 5 out of the 12 riders involved ride for BV and the other major sponsor for this meeting just happens to be BV's major sponsor or 'partner'.

As a SPEEDWAY fan based in Scotland I was looking forward to a meeting with big names but even now 5 of the 6 GB riders double down in the CL anyway but the fact this is so commercialised has put me off going especially with the fact there is a booking fee for advanced tickets.

Speedway fails yet again.

Well, that's pretty poor thinking!  You're based in Scotland, but don't fancy what is, by class of rider, one of the biggest meetings in Britain this year.   Right on your doorstep.   Where else will you see Tai or Chris H this year?

As OveFundinFan said above, major sponsors are to be welcomed, not scorned - and if you don't want to pay a booking fee, just turn up with your cash in hand, and don't pay one.

So lets exclude all riders that double down and the full Belle Vue team it doesn't leave many options for the teams does it.

But I am guessing as you feel uncomfortable with the whole idea of this meeting you will be staying at home I have a rubber ring that you can sit on as you watch Bargain Hunt on the TV

With the exception of C Holder, all riders just happen to have established CMA's for this season, so it helps in establishing the reserve and supplementary reserve.
