Leicester v Poole Monday 30th July 2018 Prem B.

Recommended Posts

Doesn't the International Leagues agreement now take precedence over everything? Including which license a rider has?

The Wednesdays/Thursdays fudge doesn't leave the UK with a leg to stand on with the DMU re Wednesdays but it seems that the DMU is being reasonable. With Mondays it is clear-cut re which league has priority, and in this case the rider has a contract with a UK club to ride on Mondays but is being prevented from doing so by his parent authority.

Then surely it is up to Josh to tell pzm to stick it and ride for Poole, he doesn't even ride every meeting for them anyway .This rule about getting a NL rider isn't fair on the team or the paying public but it's the rule so should be adhered to.  If this was a Leicester rider Poole would be trying to use it to their advantage too.

Josh can’t tell the PZM to stick it. By doing so they would withdraw his license to ride meaning he wouldn’t be able to ride anywhere.

If Poole are forced to use a 3 pointer so be it but it is just penalising a club that could do nothing about this  situation.

You could off-set the loss of Josh by having another three pointer replace Woryna!  :)

He rides on a Polish lisence and the reason he was forced to ride in Poland.

r/r so Woryna, Klindt and Jakobsen take his rides.

Polish license or not - UK has priority on Mondays.  If he rides in Poland and Poole use a facility for him - then it’s an automatic 28 day ban!

If a rider simply just doesn't show up for a match he's been booked to ride in, what do the current regs say his team can do in terms of replacing his rides?

Nl 6 pointer or r/r with missing rider receiving fine and 28 day ban.

The way I see it (and others won’t) is that none of this is Poole’s fault. From what I can gather Poole had been working to get Josh to Leicester for tonights meeting. But the PZM have refused to budge and won’t allow him to ride here, even though the UK has priority on Mondays. They have said he must ride for Lodz even though it is against the agreements which were put in place to stop this from happening. The rider has been placed in an impossible position by the PZM.

Leicester are now trying to use this to their advantage. Rather than accept that Poole can do absolutely nothing about this as it is out of their hands they really should accept that r/r is the fairest solution.

Of course the majority on here will completely disagree with the last sentence. If Poole are forced to use a 3 pointer so be it but it is just penalising a club that could do nothing about this  situation.

It’s not about Poole - it’s about the rules - those very same rules that you often hide behind.  If the same happened to a Swindon rider i’d Be saying the same.  The “fairest” thing is that Poole follow the rules.  If they use RR then Scrabble gets a 28 day ban and if they use a NL rider then he can ride in the next Poole meeting - it is that simple and the federation license he holds is totally irrelevant!

There you go - you even know the rules - but want to relax them because it’s Poole?

Interestingly Poole site now has Josh in lineup with no mention of him riding for Lodz. Perhaps the PZM have seen common sense and relented.

Just as a matter of interest, the current rules (18.8 Facilities) state that if 'no facility' then a SGBC rider with an MA of 4 points or less can take the place.

The Poole team published by Leicester yesterday (?) has JG listed so presume this is per Poole's side as given to BSPA.

So if the PZM/Lodz continue to prevent him from fulfilling his contractual and international obligations by refusing to issue the necessary permits including insurance, Poole seem to have a choice between r/r + 28 day ban, or drafting in someone like James Sarjeant for the match. (ref Skidder1).

PS. I cases such as this, it ought to be a complete worldwide 28-day suspension rather than just the UK, otherwise the real criminals (the Poles) would be getting away with it. Also the FIM should be able to intervene and over-ride by providing the necessary permits and insurance themselves when there is clearly transgression of their rules.

If Josh is not at Leicester surely a 28 day ban and fine should be in place.

UK speedway takes preference on Mondays!

Unless he is riding on a Polish licence so Polish fixtures would take priority for Polish riders. He is lined up at number two so either he is riding or they are going to operate RR as they are already missing Andersen

Aparrently Josh Grajonek was seen at Dusseldorf airport this morning waiting around the check-in area.

And the FIM has scheduled an urgent meeting for 29th November (it's the earliest date all 18 panel members are all available)
