Giving the career he has had Sarjeant should be a trump card at reserve for Glasgow, signed on a low average and still on a low average would suggest he has had a lot more meetings like last night rather than Friday night. He will end the season on a low average oddly making him an attractive signing for someone next season, so his underachievement for Glasgow will give him employment for someone else, only in speedway.

After this season Sarjeant is unemployable in speedway. He's been round at least half the Championship clubs and used up all his chances IMO.

There are no easy solutions for the problems the sport is facing, but a good start would be sorting out the entertainment value by giving the riders a decent track to race on.No excuses ,like Batchelor says they just come up with excuses regarding this matter. The Team at Berwick have lived up to expections for most fans this season  but the entertainment factor has dropped IMO .At least we won't have to suffer the cold dark nights this season.Saving on Electricity too, that will be a bonus for the Promotion.

I’ve been to every meeting at Berwick as a neutral this year and I’ve gotta say the entertainment has been poor to say the least. Most of the excitement has been when Chris Harris has missed the gate. When one of the highlights was Buddy the Bandit doing wheelies on a mini bike you know it’s been dull. Apparently 30 tons of shale was deposited on the track this week, but you’d be hard pressed to notice the difference

Spot on, can`t argue with any of that. As Shadders points out there was new material on the track with no noticeable difference in the actual racing, apart from the races that featured Harris.

Would just like to say a thank you to Nick Morris, he helped Jye 10 fold last year when partnered together with him getting his first home win thanks to Nick team riding him brilliantly, he, along with the Edinburgh promotion, have given us a terrific battler who is not afraid to give it out and FIGHT for his points, something that every fan wants to see for their team, it is so good to see and he has been a pleasure to watch this past year and a half to see how much he has progressed after being disgustingly treated by the Edinburgh promotion. Now he’s dominating Chris Harris and controlling the race to keep him behind.

The collection that was held last night for minibike rider Mickey Bennett raised the magnificent sum of £1141. Details can be found on the club's Facebook page.

Their are lots of riders who protect and keep their averages low especially towards the end of the season so they get employment the following season, it’s been going on for decades, it’s nothing new.

What a pile of rubbish. Jye was out of order last night with his move on Harris, and if you don’t agree, ask Jye’s team mates who apologised to Chris for the move.

Sarj has kept his low all season! Consistent in that regard if little else.

Hasnt his average risen by nearly a point?

Not as much as perhaps hoped or expected but certainly a lot better than a number of others have managed....

Sarj 4.16 from 1st of August

Trying to work that one out, I've been to all the July meetings except Berwick away. Its either the Lakeside home meeting or BSPA error. Think I'll go with the latter!

This season (before Berwick matches) he had scored 98 points (and 10 bonus points) from 89 races (Glasgow program).

It will also depend what scores from last season he is dropping.

don't think he actually controlled the race - Harris had no option but to shut off otherwise he would have joined Tigers fans on terracing - took David Howe to calm matters at end of race - considering Chris gives everyone plenty of room to race the rash way Jye dealt with it was poor including revving up at the end of the race - i'm sure other riders would have dealt with this differently - just remember Jye if that,s the reputation you want - you need to expect if you dish it out you will get it back
