Poole v Kings Lynn. Prem B. 1st August 2018

Expensive way of getting a meeting called off with all the riders and crowd in.  Much better to have say a power failure the day before.  For example. Or fake a heart attack, that’s always a good one :)

Thanks, there was no way this was deliberate. It was bad prep tbh. Buster was prepared to help and said to riders that we could get meeting on. They were the reason meeting was called off.

Daft really because the rerun was run in rain from heat 1 till conclusion of meeting.

The power outage can be more easily be sorted and no costs in getting riders to travel etc.

Wow.. hang on there.      this was predetermined act because Poole had riders missing.    There were no crowds let in  the doors were shut. only a few of us manged to get through he pit gate,  to see the mess that had been created.

At least when calling the meeting off a day early, you stop fans the unnecessary  time,  and  expense  that we incurred that day...

Webbo we have all had our lariets pulled by promoters.  Remember at Lynn where we paid 13 quid (or whatever) to watch a succession of engine failures orchistrated by the then Lynn Team manager in a failed attempt to get averages down to bring in a new rider.  Or doesn’t that count ?

You've answered your own conspiracy there. Why would Matt Ford wait until everyone had arrived and the costs it incurs to then call off.

He is tight and would be called it off day before or earlier in day to save money.

Even the most blinkered fans will know we haven't a chance of achieving anything at Poole  having the reserves we have at the moment.   Considering they couldn't score any points at home last night,  what chance have they doing much on an away track..    Our 1 to 5 will keep the Pirates honest ,    but that's as far as it will go.

Cant believe our bosses taking the gamble on these out of depth riders.

You are missing the point here,   even your  most ardent supporters agreed it was done to get the meeting cancelled.     The meeting wasn't called off until a few hours before the start,  when most of us had already began the long journey.

The reserved look like the big difference here.....if we can gate well I would suggest that the top fives will be evenly matched but unless Newman can roll back the years then our reserves are going to get absolutely slaughtered by Woryna and Jakobsen.

He looked all at sea with the grip last night but I would expect him to be better at Poole.

Out of interest who would you have at reserve tomorrow night if you were in charge?

Not sure why all the waffle on here about a meeting called off years ago. The track had an ongoing issue with that area of track right up to last winter when the whole lot was dug up and relaid. Track is now in good order.

On to this meeting and am very much looking forward to it. Should be a real battle and excited to see Lambert v Kurtz and Harris.  Newman at reserve? Will want to do well in front of his local club.

But with Woryna and Jakobsen at 6 and 7 he will have his work cut out. Be suprised if S Lambert troubles the scorers.

Weather set fair and a big crowd expected.

Even if Robert goes through the card and scores 18, can't see the Stars getting within 20 points of the Pirates.

Robert Lambert has asked to be stood down from Team GB on Saturday due to suffering fatigue!

After back and forth to Sweden today/tomorrow plus the added pressure of being the new Number 1 for August, it'll be interesting how he does at Wimborne Road on Wednesday.

Poole won 58-32 back in June when they hadn't started reaching any form at that point.;);)
