Not certain if i will be there thursday small matter of supporting the lead singer of The New Model Army at the Vic in Old Town same night!! Could be a case of slight jiggling around but this looks like it could be a decent one....Aces seem to have strangely imploded somewhat but still on paper at least pose a threat around Blunsdon but i am confident our top 6 will carry too much know how round our home

And Mark Riss. That's what happens when you ride on CL nights.

It just shows how important the 'flagship' Premiership is doesn't it?:D

With such nonsense who really cares who wins it?

Not really a great selling point with which to attract a crowd is it?

Or indeed attract any major media coverage ..

It seems that Cook signed to ride for Glasgow before this fixture was arranged, plus Thursday is not a premiership fixed race night which means Glasgow get preference. Don’t know whether we can use a guest, but the sport is a complete joke, Potential race off decider and we lose ourNo. 1 which our management must have known before agreeing to this fixture———- or did they???

It simply shouldn't happen...

Imagine trying to explain to a wider sporting audience this scenario with Craig Cook...?

That effectively, British Speedways Premier competition must be rendered so inconsequential and worthless (by the very people who run it) that they allow the League below it to have priority on its competitors...

Imagine trying to sell that "brilliant concept" to any National Company that you are trying to attract to Sponsor the Premiership?

Imagine trying to sell that "brilliant concept" to any National Mainstream Media outlet that you may be hoping to bring on board, with the aim for them to  increase coverage and awareness of your Sport?

And Imagine trying to sell that "brilliant concept" to fans of the clubs effected, fans who follow the teams through their emotional attachment that only 'team sport' brings...?

An independent board or single entity simply wouldn't allow such 'brand damaging' nonsense to take place, as anyone with even just an ounce of business acumen would see such an operating model as nothing other than 'corporate suicide'...

That is why of course there never will be an independent board or entity running the Sport..

Let's be honest. If those who run the Sport constantly make decisions that show absolutely no respect for the reputation of the very Championships they run, then really, why should the fans give a monkeys about them either?

We could say it's a joke, but sadly, no one is laughing...:(

Sad to say, but you have hit the nail on the head, great post deserving a wider audience.

If we gate we’ll win, if we don’t we won’t. Giving this fixture a miss.

Feel for Robins fans deprived of seeing GP rider Cookattheback.

Will it affect the attendance?

I feel sorry for the Swindon main sponsor who also sponsor Cook. Still I'm sure Brady will do well (12 in Sweden last night!) as a guest and gets some more track practice in before Bank Holiday Monday!!;)

Why are some teams allowed to run on their preferred night while Belle Vue are forced to run on what one idiot described as 'one of the better days'?

It was agreed for Swindon, as the original fixed race nights were Monday & Thursday but were then changed to Monday & Wednesday because some Championship sides objected. Swindon have a problem with Wednesdays as there are restricted nights due to the greyhound racing. Swindon were given dispensation for a number of meetings due to this. As the Monday & Thursdays were agreed by the international board to be GB's fixed nights, the BSPA should have stood firm & told the clubs that objected to move up to the PL or shut up. Wednesday nights have caused problems for the clubs that have Danish riders as that is the protected night for Denmark.
