Eastbourne v Plymouth (NL)

Recommended Posts

Have to agree that Morley and Andrews gave it a good go.

Also impressed with Ethan Spiller.

Another positive was that it was completed by 9 o'clock.

Unfortunately there were only 2 or 3 real races, not much passing or even challenging for a pass.

Have to be honest, I have been going to Eastbourne for 14 years, through thick and thin, but if I had to watch what was served up on Saturday every week I would give it up.

Be honest, would you take a newcomer to Speedway these days?

Eastbourne should be in a higher league, but I doubt it will ever happen.

The problem for Eastbourne and others in the NL is that the Championship is far too close in terms of costs/quality to the Premiership. In fact, you can look at some line-ups in the Championship and they are as good, if not better, than the Prem.

Look at how good NL riders struggle when they move up.

I wonder if all the changes that are mooted for next season will leave Eastbourne with little choice to move up

I do hope so, if we can get professional riders back at Arlington and some decent marketing, I feel some of the Elite League stayaways could return and boost attendances.

to my eyes the 3rd tiers almost dead, there are 4-5 sides so weak its hardly a league, bit like footy in lots of ways
