Obviously his kit for Morizes would go by road and he would have flown out by himself this morning. Funnily enough professional speedway riders are doing that day in day out !! I think you need to stop the obsession and focus on the match now it looks like Sheffields top 2 cost us again
Guest WTF1 Posted September 1, 2018 Yes it's time to stop the Shane's theory, who cares, he wasn't missed for Sheffield 7+1 his R/R rides produced far more than he would have got, probably would have been replaced in one race anyway with an inform reserve, certainly didn't detract from one of the best matches and racing I have seen in a long time and there were no bloody guests. Boothers 223 Posted September 1, 2018 2 hours ago, Cue Ball said: Harris has a team and no doubt has somebody who can drive a van to France for him - which from Sheffield would take best part of around 13 hours non-stop, so add on waiting for the ferry/tunnel, toilet/food stops etc, you’re looking at 16/17 hours travel at least, so too much to do in one day safely - That person or persons can no doubt set up the bikes and so forth when they get there. Shanes doesn’t have those kind of resources Sorry, and I have no axe to grind here, but surely a rule is a rule and the fact that Chris Harris has worked his nuts off to be in the fabulous position to have a 'team' behind him shouldn't mean that other riders should have 'allowances' made because they're not as 'fortunate' as him.

Totally correct.. But when a meeting is re-arranged there needs to be some flexibility Would be nice to think that in the future maybe the two promotions can sort it out between themselves.. Rather that rules rules rules EG. Sheffield could quite rightly have said no we ain't coming that day as Shanes isn't available.. So if the home promotion are OK with them using RR rather than a NL wobbler to make the meeting more attractive then maybe that's ok Be nice in the future for both teams to make the call themselves and try and keep speedway as competitive as it can be.. Just like the meeting was last night It really isn't good for our sport when a rule overshadows the reason we all turned up last night.. Good hard competitive racing

Shanes could have ridden last night and today if he had really wanted to. Its worrying how many folk shrug their shoulders at flimsy appliance of rules. Without proper governance you have a weak sport. Good to see Kasper impressing again by the way.
spin king 1,918 Posted September 1, 2018 Like I ask is there any special dispensation regarding a re- arranged fixture. The Scunthorpe meeting was a re-arrange meeting, the Glasgow one was an original fixture. Racer Royal says he is fairly certain that rules were broken. Redcar I see are considering and reading the rule book to see if they have grounds to to lodge a complaint. Anybody got a spare couple of hours to look through the rulebook. Sheffield could 'quite rightly' say we aren't coming (our reserve isn't available so we've decided not to turn up to a previously agreed fixture?)? To be fair I agree with the second part of your statement. And I agree with your comments regarding the racing which (whilst I wasn't there) appears to have been of a high standard. It makes no difference to league table ,we will still finish bottom !!!!! Speedway rules are a total joke and if Scunthorpe are that desperate to win then Godfrey will get his way tonight. only losers will be the crowd paying to see a rider miles behind the rest. If Broc rides like he has lately we will not have adequate cover for r/r anyway.I think Scunthorpe are scared he might ride like he did last time. We do almost every meeting. So you are only able to ride in important meetings if you have a team behind you? and we wonder why there is a limited amount young talent coming though

For FIM longtrack events you only get a facility for the day of practise and the day of the meeting, the practise and the meeting is both on today. Suprised Godfrey has let it happen to be honest but it’s Speedway after all... the most amateur proffesional sport in the world...no wonder nobody takes the sport seriously from the outside anymore.

Actually the rule says that you DON’T get a facility for practice day- which on occasions can be the day before the meeting day- As you have rightly said practice and event are today.
