Really enjoyable meeting last night. Some great racing on a well prepaired track.

Rasmus Jensen would be my 1st name on the team sheet next season, get him signed now.

Slightly concerned with klindt' s machinery issues, we got away with it but it could of cost us last night. Also ty Proctor was off the boil an has looked any thing but heat leader material these past few weeks.

Was great to catch up with Garry stead last night an see him looking so well.

1 final thing, Why did heat 1 not get pulled back???? Ricky wells jumped that fast he's nearly finished the race before the other 3 had started it.

Slightly disappointed to only get a point after being ahead but better than nothing, the 2 swedes having a bit of an off night but the top 4 done their jobs.

Just a thought but if a rider like Klindt last night, blows a bike up in the pits when warming up, couldn't Hoggy announce it to the crowd? If we knew what was happening it would be less frustrating for us and we would feel more sympathetic towards the rider concerned

He probably would have if he'd known

even more disappointed  from a Workington point of view of gifting you a travelling point . with Nicolai having  a  mare of a meeting , i recon we were about 7/8 points down on our team total . could have been around 55/56 points to the marras , no problem !

but thats speedway for ta ..

actually a decent report of this meeting on news and star website

unusually sounds like the person that wrote it was actually at the meeting for a change

As with other posters, I would concur that the meeting was entertaining with good racing on a well prepared courtesy of Steve Lawson. Comets just about edged it, with Edinburgh's two Swedes and Will Lawson contributing almost nothing - at least Lawson was making some starts.

Ben Barker really is an enigma - the first out of the pits with a bike to help Nikolai Klindt in Heat One and someone who was clearly wanting to contribute all he could to help the Comets team; in complete contrast to Thursday night and him doing his level best to finish off Tero Aarnio's season at Redcar.

Funny thing is that they now have a posted a new headline, with the following report!  Good old news & star!

Comets boss Tony Jackson delighted after win over Edinburgh Monarchs
Workington Comets boss Tony Jackson couldn’t hide his delight after his side crowned a stellar team performance with a nine-point win over table-topping Edinburgh.
The Monarchs have been the early pace-setters in the SGB Championship, leading the league with 26 points, but Comets dealt with everything they threw at them to take all three points and send them packing without even a consolation point.
The fact that the result followed a very impressive win away at Redcar on Thursday night made it even sweeter as Workington moved into the top four despite having raced the joint-fewest meetings in the division.
Jackson said: “It’s been a very satisfying few days.
"Everybody contributed and there really was some exciting racing. Mason Campton was chuffed to bits to beat Ricky Wells in the opening heat and James Sarjeant is gradually getting used to the place.
“It would have been a big comedown if we’d won at Redcar then lost this and this lot are no pushovers, they’re top of the league.”
The beaming Comets boss declared Thomas Jorgensen his rider of the night and said he was starting to show the form that made him a target for the club for years.
He said: “He was sensational; that’s the Thomas Jorgensen we signed and you can see now he’s finally got some speed.
“He’s struggled with his engines but, to be fair, he’s spent some money on them and when he’s out front he looks so fast, classy and stylish.”
Meanwhile, Comets’ trip to Peterborough next Monday has been pushed back to a 7pm start.

good old news and star dragged a old report up and though it would do

but just confirms my theory that most of the reports about speedway are wrote by someone who wasn't even there

this was the original item posted
