What a load a kak. So he won’t be riding for Belle Vue in the playoffs then?

Doesnt seem likely

Mark was very impressive when he first joined and looked to have rediscovered his form

Took a couple of hefty knocks which he hasnt really recovered from and unfortunately his scoring has not just dipped but evaporated almost completely

All the best to him

I was told after the meeting that Riss wouldnt be there on Saturday as was retiring...hence why Ipswich contacted Starke to guest.

Interesting situation, given the precedent set by the SCB with Danny Phillips. If Neil Vatcher is consistent, then he will insist that Riss returns or Witches have to go to the tapes in three races with one rider only.

Come on , wake up and smell the coffee , there is major difference, Danny Phillips wanted to ride while mark Riss  doesn't want to ride , so he is effectively withholding services so Ipswich are entitled to a facility.

I smell a rat here and suspect it was not his sole decision - will this enable Belle Vue to strengthen for the playoffs??

Offspring uni drop off duty here so is there anyone going to this meeting who would be able to text updates to the Updates site? If so, could you please send me a private message which includes your mobile number.

Thanks

While I agree with you, according to Belle Vue they were informed by Ipswich that Mark was stepping down.

Do you not think the decent thing for Mark to do is to inform his two clubs.

So it seems Ipswich have probably ASKED Riss to step down pointing out that he is hurting both his clubs by not scoring at present due to knocks & lack of confidence. This is classed as withholding his services which enables both teams to have a facility thus strengthening up at a vital time of the season. As Danny wants to ride for Scunthorpe we could not bring in untried 2 pointers that MIGHT have scored a few points whereas Ipswich & Belle Vue can bring in riders that are on low averages but hitting a bit of form that SHOULD strengthen them.

But why would they ask him to step down now after the Witches season is all but over.... surely they should have done that a week ago?

Read this week's Speedway Star.  Danny no longer wants to ride for Scunthorpe - so it's the same as Riss at Ipswich.  Despite that, Scunthorpe are still not allowed to use NL guests for him.

Either guests are not allowed for Riss, or Scunthorpe are allowed NL guests for Danny.  A little consistency is needed here from the SCB.

With other events going on tonight and what was served up Thursday, and what's left of the Ipswich team, I'm thinking lowest crowd for many a year. Only the hardest of diehards.

Wouldn't believe all you read in Speedway Star.

This week it said Ben Barker was riding for Workington against Peterborough, but when I watched the meeting he was riding for Peterborough against Workington!
