I think i'm right in saying that Ford was always against one league. How times change.
ray c 2,299 Posted July 12, 2019 I thought matt said earlier that this was his last season come what may if true not sure what happens to poole speedway after that ?
poole keith 909 Posted July 12, 2019 need to keep speedway at wimborne rd continuously, a break of even one season would create big planning problems youd think. Matt is still a massive poole fan so im sure will do his best for the club, however it appears no one is going to pay anywhere near his reported asking prices maybe have to "give it away" and sell as many assets as possible to whoever

Not sure the son has a clue! Worrying times for Poole and the Sport. Is Steve Shoveller Matt Ford's son then?

Steve Shovlar 10,439 Posted July 12, 2019 Very unfortunate that the meeting has been cancelled but if it meant losing money that’s the only option. I wouldn’t attend and neither would hundreds of others, meaning a minuscule crowd with the rent remaining the same.

Do you not think the clubs that have already held them didn’t lose money on it then?. What a total lack of interest in British speedway the owners of Poole have shown. How you can even defend this is beyond me as it’s one of the very reasons the sport is on its knees.

I fail to see any valid reason why one club can withdraw when all clubs face a potential dip in crowds. I’m sure the cost to get in is much smaller than usual and hopefully someone can confirm this?

Hopefully they haven't said anything cos they are rearranging it but as they are looking at having it at a different track it doesn't seem likely. Communication is not good this year!
