cyclone 943 Posted October 1, 2018 Both clubs have now confirmed that the 2nd leg, which replaces the then postponed leg of 30th April, will now be the final fixture at the Dale for 2018, on Friday. Tigers already hold a ten point lead from the first leg and imo will be favourites to retain the Trophy. Line ups will now doubt be confirmed in due course, but would expect guests to replace Greaves , & Andersson will be required, and either a guest or r/r for Cookie. It has also been publicised that all tickets bought for the original scheduling of this meeting are still valid.
Weeyin 1,022 Posted October 1, 2018 Unfortunately won't make this as I will be in Torun, would be nice to come back to having the Scottish cup back in the west, but after our last armadale experience, It is a big task to hold onto aany lead.
Neila 1,155 Posted October 1, 2018 This should have been postponed to later on and Glasgow forced to run the play off semi verses the comets, just saying !! 1

Paulco 7,075 Posted October 1, 2018 So despite all the other trivial stuff going on , like title play offs etc , the most coveted prize in British speedway can come to its exciting climax . Yes since the sad demise of the Spring Trophy , this has become the pinacle of our great sport . Once again Glasgow and Edinburgh have been awarded byes into the final , since the Paisley Lions and Motherwell Eagles were unable to fulfill their fixtures , and the brave boys from the West hold a ten point lead from the first leg back when the daffodils were in bloom . It was muted that since both clubs are without their injured number sevens , to negate Edinburgh's home track advantage , the Monarchs would use a NL guest and we would use Greg Hancock or Tai Woffinden , but apparently they have some other nonsense going on at the weekend . So despite Edinburgh being a crestfallen and dejected outfit , having blown a 347 point lead in last week's KO Cup semi final , they still go into this as favourites . But the plucky underdogs from God's city will battle to protect their 10 point lead , bring it on . 3 1

cheggie 72 Posted October 2, 2018 As per Glasgow's fb page - Richard Lawson guests at no.1 and Carl Wilkinson at no.6
crescent girl 1,905 Posted October 2, 2018 Just thinking - it might be the only trophy either team will win this year! Making it ever so important for the next six months of bragging rights!

Since riders cant guest for another team in the play offs ( remember them Monarchs fans ) and since Son of God now rides for a shopping centre who have also made the play offs . If , this weekend , Peterborough knock the shopping centre out of the play offs . Would Son of God still be ineligible to guest for his spiritual home if Cookie was still out of action by the time we go to war with the Comets on the 12th ?
Neila 1,155 Posted October 2, 2018 Would think not, as I understand the top four teams in the play offs can only have guests from teams not involved in the play offs, think this is from semi finals onwards, but it is speedway and anything can happen, especially if Glasgow want a guest for cookie
jenga 2,998 Posted October 3, 2018 as long as the team he rides for is no longer in the contest/play offs, i think he can . . but dont mind being shot down .
