Eh??? Sorry but you've got the wrong impression from the speculation and rumour on here, the pattern is in his acquisition of Leicester from David Hemsley and subsequent transactions that put the Bates family in.

Securing Peterborough opens up more options for Speedway and then licencing out the rights or putting a Co-Promoter in to run it keeps the venue operating. If indeed it is Keith, just because he hasn't been wholly successful as Chairman doesn't mean he makes all the wrong decisions. Let's be honest when everybody was burying Alex Harkess and his Management Committee they all wanted Keith and or Rob to run the sport. They got what they wished for in a horrible political climate and now the BSPA could do no worse than pull together all of the commentators who contributed to today's Speedway Star articles, lock them in a room and not let them out until the job is sorted. One thing that is absolutely clear from today's issue is that all the problems are known but there is still passion and enthusiasm from all those people. If we can send rockets to the moon and make all this communication from three little oblong holes on the wall those guys can eventually fix the sport, it can't be beyond the wit of man, can it?

It's the three little oblong holes on the wall that are helping to kill the sport off ....

The original quote suggested that they leave Kings Lynnn to stock cars and move to the EOES. Hence my comments.

Here in East Anglia you have Mildenhall with its future unknown, Peterborough’s position unclear, Ipswich may look at the higher league, Rye House position not totally clear, Lakeside gone by the wayside and the possible suggestion re the Stars and all this in a region that has been a hotbed of speedway over the years and tremendous growth of local talent graduating from other two wheeled sports. It may be one of the few areas in the country where the proximity of clubs could make a huge difference to the overall well being of the sport. You could even add Coventry into the equation. Comments are really based on the sport overall and concern for its future in the region and if I am reading too much into things or got it so drastically wrong apologies all round.

Why would Buster scrap speedway at the AFA when he owns the place, and rent a track for speedway.

Agree. I only reacted to the post from Wealdstone. The only other reason could be that bangers/stock car numbers through the turnstiles far exceed speedway. Spedeworth for example have what appears to be a winning formula which speedway cannot compete with and you only have to look at the numbers at Foxhall for a banger/stock car meeting to see why Speedway is the poor relation.

They don't run that many bangers/stox meetings and they are at the weekends, so wouldn't really clash with speedway at Lynn imho.Bangers is a weekend thing as all the drivers have day jobs, well maybe 90% do. I don't know if Buster rents the stadium out for the banger meetings, and they put people on the gate  and the takings are theirs or Buster gets the lot.

The Speedway Star interview with Ged Rathbone confirms the deal is about done and all else is speculation as it is not known what shape or form Speedway will take next year. Ged and Neil Watson attending AGM on behalf of new owner , and from the wording it seems like an individual rather than a consortium.

What was worrying about the many articles in this weeks star was that not many had many good ideas of how to fix the problems.

I think you will find that in typical journalistic style they answered the questions they were asked and with editing/sub editing the copy is presented as if it was an open conversation, not unusual.

I wonder if Rick Frost fancied another go now that he has the time on his hands that he didn't when boss of Readypower. I'm sure that he'd happily miss the shark infested custard of the AGM.
