Chairboy 77 Posted October 14, 2018 (edited) All this is great news for Peterborough. Next Friday, Lakeside v Workington. Saturday, Workington v Lakeside double - header. Then Lakeside v Peterborough on Sunday. I have to confess to having no experience of life as a speedway rider, but when the Lakeside team line up v Peterborough on the Sunday they will have already ridden in 3 matches over the previous 2 days, and driven the length of the country twice. Seriously, how do you cope if you are feeling the effects of an injury, or have a problem with a bike that needs fixing? waco 1,026 Posted October 14, 2018 Indeed this is a very difficult scenario for the Hammers,,many however are used to these hectic scheduals it is part of being a rider in a very demanding sport,,They have to be tough to survive......

cityrebel 2,960 Posted October 14, 2018 Sooner or later, someone in authority need to order clubs to rearrange meetings as quickly as possible, there is a similar scenario happening with the Coventry v Eastbourne fixture scheduled for the same day.
waco 1,026 Posted October 14, 2018 Surely Lakeside would have contacted Peterborough before.naming a date,.if not another mess looks on the cards....
rocket007 101 Posted October 14, 2018 The weather forecast for the Rye area for next week is set to be fine, so why can't a midweek night be arranged.
liam 376 Posted October 14, 2018 When would Peterborough like the meeting run if not next weekend?

LagutaRacingFan 1,919 Posted October 14, 2018 (edited) Lakeside announcing a date before the Panthers agreeing is very unprofessional. However, the fixture is on the BSPA website, so I'm assuming it's been approved. Sunday should be fine, only Scunthorpe and Workington are riding which means that the Panthers will have a vast array of guests to book. Am I correct in stating that you can't book guests from other play-off teams? That seems a really silly rule. At this stage of the season every team should be expected to fulfil a fixture on any date offered

LagutaRacingFan 1,919 Posted October 14, 2018 (edited) As Glasgow are crashing out tonight out of the play-offs. Can we use Harris for next Sunday? Harris in for Palm Toft and Richie Worrall or Kacper Woryna in for Nicholls. 1. R Worrall / K Woryna 2. E Grondal 3. Wilson-Dean R/R 4. U Ostergaard 5. C Harris 6. S Lambert 7. C Wilkinson. The above side would be in the best interests of British Speedway and would ensure a healthy contingent of Panthers' fans heading to Rye House. rocket007 101 Posted October 14, 2018 Answer is no because Riders riding for one club in the play-offs cannot then ride for another club once their club has been knocked out. But as this is Speedway, rules will probably change to suit certain clubs.

Hopefully, the BSPA step in like they did for the Premiership Final. Edited October 14, 2018 by JeremyCorbynFan
