steve roberts 9,242 Posted October 14, 2018 I've just finished reading Bert Harkins' book and it made for an interesting read especially his year spent riding in America when it was decided to run with a league. Full of anecdotes about his time racing around the world and well worth a read for those interested in the bigger picture!
Tim Templeton 43 Posted October 15, 2018 This is one of the best I've read. Most entertaining.
Tigerblade 221 Posted October 31, 2018 I can only echo what Steve and Tim say, I read it a couple of weeks ago, and it was excellent. As I only started going in 1977, I had no real idea of Bert's career save for Edinburgh and Milton Keynes, although of course he was one of the characters who immediately stood out. So all the abroad stuff was new to me, and fascinating, because he did it when many people of his generation would not have done. So I can understand why he recalls these events so well.
