BSF Awards - National League

Hello, ladies and gentlemen here is something that crossed my mind to try on the forum - An awards thread!

How it will work

For your choice on the award, you simply put your choice down and a reason for why it is your choice if someone agrees they can upvote it. Once we have a few nominations they will be shortlisted into a final vote after around a week or so. Now for the awards ;)

  • Rider of the year - Shortlist announced 11th November - Drew Kemp, Tom Bacon, Georgie Wood, Danny Ayres
  • Most impressive team - Shortlist announced 18th November
  • Team rider of the season - Shortlist announced 25th November
  • One to watch - Shortlist announced 2nd December
  • Meeting of the season - Shortlist announced 16th December 
  • Surprise of the season - Shortlist announced 23rd December 
  • Underperformers (Team) - Shortlist announced 30th December
  •  Unluckiest rider - Shortlist announced 6th January
  • Newcomer of the season - Shortlist announced13th January

Rider of the year: Georgie Wood, being an Eastbourne faithful watching him score big home and away he’s really stepped up. 

most impressive team: Mildenhall 

team rider of the season: only one armo

one to watch : Dan gilkes  

meeting of the season: british u21 Final was impressive. 

surprise of the season: Eastbourne double winners

underperformers team: Birmingham (only through injury mind you) 

unluckiest rider: JPB - wishing him well after his recent car crash too. 

Newcomer of the season: Kemp

rider of the year - DREW KEMP  ( can't think of anything that hasn't already been said about this racer)

most impressive team - MILDENHALL  ( coped with injuries well until the last month of the season )

team rider of the season - MARK BASEBY ( for this and last season)

one to watch - JORDAN PALIN ( all teams will be after him next year )

meeting of the season - COVENTRY V EASTBOURNE PLAY/OFF SEMI 2ND LEG ( really enjoyed this one )

surprise of the season - MILDENHALL NOT WINNING THE TREBLE ( couldn't see anyone touching them , injuries apart )

underperformers team - PLYMOUTH ( season imploded when other contenders stepped up a gear )

unluckiest rider - DANNY AYRES  ( he's my pick but run close by way too many others )

newcomer of the year - LEON FLINT ( most tipped leon to be 'best of the rest' behind kemp & jenkins , leon thought differently )

team rider of the season - Connor Coles (rode well in a struggling team)

one to watch - Dan Gilkes

meeting of the season - B'ham v Cradley (NT) 

surprise of the season - Layne Cuppit (not fulfilling his potential and quitting)

underperformers team - Belle Vue

unluckiest rider - Mitch Davey/Danyon Hume ???

newcomer of the year - Drew Kemp

As a Plymouth supporter I would disagree with your choice there, we had as many injuries as Birmingham but being as far west as we are and riding on a Friday it seemed difficult to get replacements. We were still in with a shot until the last few meetings :-)

one to watch - From this year's league - Alex Spooner.  For next year Dan Gilkes

meeting of the season - Belle Vue v Mildenhall - (Last heat decider. Should have been Mildenhall's only defeat of the year.)

surprise of the season - Ryan Kinsley (unsung hero of Mildenhall team)

underperformers team - Stoke 

unluckiest rider - Danyon Hume

newcomer of the year - Leon Flint
