The good news is that Ashley may well have got a buyer who is pretty 'firm'( that's the interest, and not what you are thinking:D) and he is hoping that the deal can be done before the end of the January transfer period. Difficult is whilst this is going on there will be no transfers in or out, and the deal will probably be done late in the month, and "not enough time to get any deals" over the line as Ashley likes to say. We will see. His best present to us will be to leave, get out, and change the ownership on the 1st January. Wonder if he fancies going back to Rangers as surely he still has the stand named after him. :P

He is tying up our retail department  day after day in litigation just because he can , he is an absolute horrible specimen, it would be good idea for him to set foot in Ibrox as he wouldn't leave under his own steam , he is despised up here every bit as much as he is on Tyneside.

I have read chapter and verse how he weaselled his way into Rangers , getting control, getting the stand naming, the merchandising, the rights and putting Lambias in to run it for him. Lambias I read, I think in Keagans recent biography, was the most horribleist  person he ever had to deal with. Some reputation eh, he came to us to be Managing Directory on the basis that he headed up a Casino. Sounds about right for him. Incidently, it was also rumoured the we go Pardew only cos he was cheap as he owned a lot of money gambling it away in Lambias's Casino. I'll leave my thoughts out on Wise. Lets hope we are both rid of the High Street saviour pretty soon.

I know you said it in jest Dave, but saviour.  This a man that perpetuates zero hours contracts and the minimum range, or as our Government call it 'The New Living wage', the lowest of the lowest followed closely by Amazon and most of our Supermarkets.  By the way the living wage is £10.35 and  £11.25 in London

So Glasgow offered rasmus Jensen 10k and a bike JUST to sign for the season, how do they have the face to plead povertity in the speedway star just a few weeks earlier?? Desperately trying to buy the league trophy, and in doing so stuffing up every other club In British speedway. All you get out of riders now when negotiations take place is Glasgow have offered this......

As if the sport isn't in enough trouble without Glasgow pulling tricks like this.

Let's just hope they win something next year or who knows what desperate measures they'll make next. Sadly though I can't see them winning anything with the team they have put together, sarjent at 2, starke at 4 an two week reserves that's way two long of a tail.

Double his wages, plus the 10k. No Chinese whispers. Just facts.

Well, it might be true, it might not.    I'm taking the Worky moans and Tigers' howls of derision with equal quantities of salt.

But if I was going shopping with ten grand and a new bike under my arm, I reckon I'd be wanting to get a bit more in exchange than a 25-year-old Danish journeyman who has only pushed his 6.56 average at Plymouth in 2013 average all the way up to 6.59 last season.

Flippin heck averages averages averages.....don't use them to decry a rider it doesn't add up.....all of us who saw Ramus perform in the latter part of Comets triumphant season had evidence aplenty of his crowd pleasing input....a joy to watch for sure...........stuff the averages.

Honestly

I know the two deals were not that far apart on points money, it was the "add on's" and fringe benefits that swung the deal, and again being honest I did not get to find out what those "add on's" were (and if I did I wouldn't be putting it out on here that's for sure) but at the end of the day Workington's last offer fell short so that was the end of it, and again at the end of the day if Glasgow can afford it  they can offer what they want with as many bells and whistles attached. It is between the rider and the club and that's it.

In fact even if they cant afford it they can still offer what the want. Ultimately a rider will do what he perceives as to what is best for himself and his career and there isn't much loyalty in sport these days and that is any sport for that matter not just Speedway. Finally you know what my grump was, (and it wasn't the deal) so I wont rake over those coals again.

Mr Uluru from down under has made a valid point as too has Sing13 and Glasgow have paid over their monies and they will take their chance on a rider who is a hot property at the moment and definitely a talent on a bike and like most Danes is a consummate professional who; and again if I am totally honest was a pleasure to work with last season and always gave 100% effort; when others sometimes spat the dummy, So I do hope he kicks on this season and the Glasgow fans get see what he can do. #SpecialJ

I will watch his progression through the sport with interest, he's a genuine kid (and his old man is a good lad too) and a talented Speedway rider whose aggression and control on a bike was fantastic to watch.

As Gerry Facenna said in his tv interview it was with a few different sponsors help that they managed to secure some of this years riders so if the sponsor wants to write off some money he is free to do so whether it be vans  rolling chassis Kevlar's engines  which are all given back at the end of the season it’s really up to them
