That is at the heart of speedway's problems regardless of who rides where and even who owns which club! A minimum 25% increase in new supporters is a "must" over the next two seasons. If things continue with a 10% loss each year of existing supporters, it's Game Over. With this league i can see fans picking and choosing there meetings. At Swindon we generally get 1000 plus 12/1300 on a good day for the life of me how they can afford Doyley, Batch, Toby on those crowds god knows. But you are right if we cant encourage fresh blood to support the sport the longterm picture looks bleak.

It might have been the cost of employing the whole team that was the issue and someone had to go. The whole problem with that assumption is that a team suddenly appeared and an immediate look by those controlling the purse strings said that the sums didn't add up. However, it was a drip feed of signings and then a press release of a full 1-7 that was well received by fans. It then took a further month to then realise, allegedly, that the sums don't add up. Something else might have come out of the woodwork which did indeed need a financial decision but it can't be a surprise that few are buying it so to speak. Whatever the reason though, it's standard speedway of rubbish communications keeping the fire burning; being a big secret for the majority with a minority seemingly knowing more but never putting their head above the parapet then, shock horror, the whispers are confirmed. Is it possible the averages didn't add up and some riders didn't get the rider average discount they were expecting.

It's already been stated the reason was to cut the budget which is nothing but a sick joke as 4/5 week ago the team was given the green light . Then Buster muscles in and disrupts everything. That always going to be a problem when someone has the monopoly of 3 clubs and is also the BSPA chairman. Hardly independent is he . 5

Excuse my ignorance but who would decide as to whom is eligible for the 2.5% discount? Could the other 4 promoters have ganged up, said Harris rode 3rd tier too long ago? Looks like Tungate flatly refused to return to Ippo, rider control 1960s style has returned to Speedway GB via Buster "C". That's "C" for control?
