Yes noted.

The Rebels team looked top heavy to start with and now looks even more vulnerable. Atkins and Rowe are both promising young talents but they really need to be riding with a strong first reserve to take off some of the pressure. It means that Grobauer will be very unlikely to get a spell at reserve no matter how badly he struggles.

Real shame for Somerset, Berge I believe would have been fantastic around the Oak tree arena ,  he also had issues with both Glasgow and Berwick and could struggle to get a team in the championship in the future unless there are a glut of injuries.

Somerset should of just come out and slaughtered him, not tried to protect him about struggling to find a mechanic. Berge simply couldn't be assed and that's that, and in the process completely destroyed Somerset's team further.

He has history when we first brought him over he was like a spoilt brat , we were slated by some on here for showing him the door , but wouldn't touch him with a berge pole.

Bergé has acted like a "spoilt brat" in long-track racing, too, when he was beaten by Smolinki for the world title last year. He is a very good rider, but at times he's not easy to get on with.

Time to forget about Berge, I have, never turned a wheel for us , good riddance, his loss.

It’s gonna be tough for us now as the whole balence of the team has gone out the window, bet Gary is privately fuming. It’s funny clubs often take a lot of stick when they jettison riders for poor form and such like, I suppose the Berge thing is like the boot being on the other foot. Hasn’t Bomber been similarly stitched up by Peterborough. Aaah Speedway we love shooting ourselves in the foot.

Albeit a somewhat pointless heat formula, the new cup competition in the Premiership offers even more fixtures in the comparison to the Championship. If Somerset were still in the Premiership that would of offered up at least 3 more home meetings. One of the 'positive' reasons for dropping down was for more fixtures but that has now been proven to actually have reduced the amount of fixtures.

In all the leagues we need to happen to get back to a full season of racing instead of two or three times a month with all the postponed fixtures held in the last week of October. The easy way to do that with the current size of each league is to race home and away more times. Each round of fixtures to be run in a fixed month time slot.

Such an arrangement would give 18 home league fixtures in the Premiership with each side racing home and away three times. First round in April and May, second round in June and July with the third round in August and September.

In the Championship it would be home and away twice for 20 home fixtures. First round in April, May and June and the second round in July, August and September.

The National Development League could run the same way as the Premiership with 21 home fixtures.

KO Cup and other fixtures could be used to fill in any empty dates so every track is running every week through the season. Regular racing means supporters don't find something else to do and makes advertising much easier (if a track does actually advertise!)

Last season at least one track had an advert just outside the stadium which was regularly showing the previous meeting when I arrived for a meeting, no wonder the crowd vanished and it went bust!
