Laurence,

Are Exeter competing in the 2019 M+SDL?  The SGB web site would suggest not, but shows Plymouth as a competing team and they were not in last season's SDL, so is this team Exeter under a different name?

Where did Exeter, Reading and Weymouth stage their 'home' matches? Did these teams generate support from the areas they represent?

I suspect this was a rhetorical question from gustix?  I can't speak for Exeter or Weymouth but I know of some from the Reading area who made as many trips down to Eastbourne as they could to follow the Racers, including myself and one of my sons.  It is a great pity of course that the trip has to be made but that is the sad state of speedway in the UK at present.  My father used to speak of the days when you could go to speedway every night of the week and never leave London!  I think its safe to say those days will never be repeated.

I can't say i have noticed a band of Weymouth supporters but suspect they must be there. Have noted Reading, Exeter & Milton Keynes all having a dedicated band of travelling support so its clear the love for some is still there.

On a slightly separate not i hope / prey that Weymouth can find a home venue for the upcoming season, surely Swindon would be able to accommodate them? Its only half a dozen 2nd half meetings a season but means a lot to so many.

Logic would suggest Weymouth race at Poole and Reading at Swindon, but there doesn't seem much logical about the way speedway in this country is run at present.  Slightly straying from the original topic but, I was at a track I won't mention last season and a lady using crutches came through the turnstile and then realised she had forgotten to purchase a programme which were also being sold on entry at the turnstile.  Believe it or not, she was made to go back outside the stadium and queue again to buy her programme.  If the track management recognises itself from this account, shame on you
