Leicester have seemingly realised that no-one likes their name suggestions and saved it by saying the poll was a semi-final and there’ll be 4 more options to choose from! Having the senior team called "Lions" and the NL team called "Hunters" really doesn't go together! Cubs is the obvious nickname. Just as Belle Vue have the Aces and the Colts, Leicester will have the Lions and the ????? Lions and Cubs makes sense. Lions and Hunters seems a bit incongruous. Personally i wonder if a better tactic might have been to track the side as Long Eaton? (If the current name holders don't object/would like to come on board?) Pretty simple really . unless of course you want to invent something else , at the moment they dont have a name ,so whatever they may be called . not rocket science is it . If you think tieing the 2 together as leicester 1 and 2 is a good idea , fair enough , who cares really , except not too far away there are at least 2,000 speedway fans who have no team and will have nothing to do with leicester in any form . if you dont want any of their support ,fine ,call them Lions 2 if you like . lions cubs hunters all mean exactly the same thing ....
