My favourite 10 Canadan riders: Eric Chitty, Jimmy Gibb, Bill Mathews, George Pepper, Bruce Venier, Goldie Restall, Crocky Rawding, Elwood Stilwell, Charlie Appleby, Eddie 'Flash' Barker.

I think that I only saw two Canadians ride - Mark Conroy (?) for Weymouth ans Shawn Venebles.

I think you'll find that the Weymouth rider was the late Garry Ford, Steve. What a tragic end to a promising career...

Of these riders, possibly only Eric Chitty and Jimmy Gibb can be recognised as world class? George Pepper was probably on the verge of that status but sadly died in a wartime flying accident.

A leading rider for many seasons in domestic Canadian  racing was Len Dillon, winner of several Canadian Championships. Dillon tends to be overlooked I presume because he never raced in Britain. However, and I stand to be corrected, I think he rode with some success in either the 1980s or 1990s in Sweden.
