Sandy Powell-Dirt Track Rider

Recommended Posts

OMG!!! That is brilliant!

When I saw "Sandy Powell", I thought, "I only know one Sandy Powell?" I love old British comedy and music-hall stuff, so that is right up my alley!

I thought it was hilarious and interesting in equal portions. The bit about sprouts and spuds and i'll eat em.Or the bit about calling himself 'Dick' even though his name is Sandy to appeal to the flappers

Well of course... In those days, comedians were able to be suggestive without being crude or tasteless - and nobody was offended.

Only just noticed this thread, nice one, that is part one and two on the youtube vid you posted.  I have two versions one on Imperial and another on the Woolworths Victory label,

So it predates 1930.

I've taken this record around a few tracks and played it on a portable gramophone, it was a favourite of Ivor Thomas's.
